Giants placed RE Jason Pierre-Paul on the reserve/franchise player list.

JPP has not reported to the Giants, and nor has he signed his franchise tender. He lost his index finger in a July 4 fireworks accident. The Giants may be best off considering anything Pierre-Paul gives them in 2015 a bonus.

Raiders released/waived KR Trindon Holliday, CB Ras-I Dowling, CB James Dockery, OG Lamar Mady, P Steven Clark, WR Josh Harper, CB Rob Daniel, QB Cody Fajardo, WR Josh Jarper and S Jimmy Hall.

Hall was waived/injured. Holliday is one of the better return men in the NFL, but undersized and mistake prone. Now 29, he's running out of chances to stick in the league.

Travis Kelce dropped out of Monday's practice with a "slight" ankle sprain.

Kelce missed Tuesday's session. We don't usually post such minor injury situations on Rotoworld, but have seen people freaking out about Kelce on Twitter. Coach Andy Reid stated after Tuesday's practice that Kelce has a "slightly" sprained ankle, and it is not of the high variety. Reid added that Kelce would be able to play if the Chiefs had a regular season game this week.

Julius Thomas will undergo surgery on his injured finger Wednesday.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports Thomas could be sidelined a month. That's in line with what GM David Caldwell said on Monday. Caldwell essentially ruled Thomas out for Weeks 1-3, calling Week 4 "realistic." Thomas is a tough sell as anything more than a TE2.

Randall Cobb (shoulder) expects to be ready for Week 1.

"I don't plan on missing a game," Cobb said. "I'm doing everything in my power to get back before then." The Packers are notoriously cautious with injuries, but most signs point toward Cobb being ready to go in 12 days against the Bears.

Johnny Manziel describes his elbow injury as "tendinitis," and says it's something he's dealt with since his freshman year of college.

Manziel also reveals he received a second opinion from Dr. James Andrews, but that the famed orthopedic surgeon didn't recommend surgery. Both Manziel and coach Mike Pettine expect him to be ready to back up Josh McCown in Week 1.

Bears claimed QB Zac Dysert off waivers from the Broncos.

Dysert played for coach John Fox and OC Adam Gase in Denver, but spent 2014 on the practice squad. He's insurance against backup Jimmy Clausen's concussion.

Federal judge Richard Berman expects a ruling in the Tom Brady case by the "end of the week."

A decision was tentatively expected to come down on Tuesday, but that isn't happening. Berman could be giving the sides more time to reach a settlement, but it's reportedly unlikely. Thankfully the melodramatic food fight will be over before Week 1.
