Elian Herrera had a big day on Sunday, going 5-for-5 with three runs scored in a win over the Cardinals.

Filling in for Jean Segura, Herrera had as many hits Sunday as he had in his previous 24 at-bats spanning back to mid-June. The career day raised his batting average from .232 to .276. When Segura returns from the Dominican Republic, where he's tending to some family issues, Herrera will likely find himself back at Triple-A.

Wily Peralta allowed only an unearned run on three hits over seven innings in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.

On a day he didn't need to be his finest, Peralta turned in his best start in over two months. The right-hander struck out five without walking a batter, and all three Cardinals hits against him were of the one-base variety. It's a strong finish to a breakout first half for Peralta, who goes into the break with a 10-6 record, 3.72 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.

Carlos Martinez allowed four runs on seven hits over four innings of work in a loss to the Brewers on Sunday.

Martinez had yet to lose as a starter before Sunday, as the loss was his first since May 29. The right-hander didn't have much from the outset, giving up four straight singles to lead off the game. He struck out five while walking three, and he owns a mediocre 4.43 ERA and 1.43 WHIP heading into the All-Star break. How the Cardinals rotation shakes out in the second half is still up in the air, but Martinez seems to be a part of it for now.

Huston Street was named to the National League All-Star team as replacement for teammate Tyson Ross who is pitching on Sunday.

Street is certainly deserving of the honor, as he's having one of the finest season's in his career. The 30-year-old has converted 24 of his 25 save chances while posting a 1.09 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 34/7 K/BB ratio over 33 innings of work.

Yankees optioned OF Zoilo Almonte to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

He was the odd-man out as the Yankees needed to recall an extra pitcher to bolster their bullpen depth for Sunday night's contest. He should return the next time the Yankees require an extra outfielder.
Jul 13 - 5:04 PM

David Price pitched eight scoreless innings, holding the Blue Jays to just five hits, and the Rays prevailed 3-0 on Sunday.

Price's start was moved back a day due to illness, but he showed no ill effects in earning his ninth win. The southpaw walked one while striking out five, rattling off his fifth win in his last six decisions. The strong string of starts leaves him with a 3.23 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 164/21 K/BB ratio through 20 starts. Trade rumors will continue to swirl around him in the coming weeks, but Price should continue to be fantastic -- wherever he's pitching -- in the second half.

Yankees recalled RHP Bryan Mitchell from Double-A Trenton.

The 23-year-old hurler owns a 4.84 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 60/29 K/BB ratio over 61 1/3 innings at Trenton this season. He'll provided additional bullpen depth for the Yankees on Sunday and can safely be ignored for fantasy purposes.
Jul 13 - 5:00 PM

Logan Forsythe went 1-for-3 with an RBI single in a win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Forsythe's 15th RBI of the year proved enough for David Price and company, as his second-inning hit drove in the first run of the game. Forsythe has become a regular in Rays manager Joe Maddon's lineup in recent weeks, but he's hitting just .243/.291/.344 overall and should be left alone in fantasy leagues.
