Adam Jones went 4-for-4 with a game-deciding two-run single in Sunday's win against the Rays.

All four of Jones' hits on the afternoon were singles. The stepped to the plate in the seventh inning with the game tied 2-2. He drove a single to center field off of Kevin Jepsen to bring in two runs, which proved to be the game-deciding hit. Jones owns a terrific .402/.438/.667 batting line along with five home runs and 21 RBI.

Doug Fister spun 6 2/3 scoreless innings in Sunday's 1-0 victory over the Mets.

He yielded just five hits -- four singles -- without issuing a walk and striking out three. It's a nice bounce-back effort from Fister after he was touched up for four runs each of his previous two times out. He improved his ERA to 2.61 for the season, although he's struck out just 14 over his 31 innings. Fister will take on the Braves in his next trip to the hill.

Drew Hutchison got a no-decision after giving up six runs in 4 1/3 innings of work on Sunday in a 10-7 loss to the Indians.

The Jays staked Hutchison to a 6-1 lead after the top of the fourth inning, but the right-hander gave a run back in the bottom-half, then contributed to a six-run fifth. He gave up eight hits in total along with a walk and two strikeouts. There's been a lot more bad than good for Hutchison thus far, as his ERA is now 7.47 with a 1.60 WHIP and a 23/12 K/BB ratio in 31 1/3 innings. He'll try to turn things around in a weekend start at home against the Red Sox.

Trevor Bauer allowed six runs -- all in the fourth inning -- over 4 1/3 innings of work in a no-decision as the Indians still managed to beat the Blue Jays on Sunday.

Bauer's control began to falter in the third inning, as he walked three batters but managed to escape unscathed. Things unraveled in the fourth, as he hit a batter and allowed three singles to help the Jays plate their first two runs. He then served up a grand slam to Devon Travis for a six-run frame. Overall, Bauer gave up seven hits, walked three, and struck out one. He now owns a 3.38 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and a 29/16 K/BB ratio in 29 1/3 innings. He'll get a chance to rebound over the weekend at home against the Twins.

Matt Carpenter was removed from Sunday's game against the Pirates due to lightheadedness.

Before departing, Carpenter blasted a solo home run in the fourth inning to put the Cardinals on top 1-0. It sounds as though his exit was purely precautionary and that he should be cleared to rejoin the Cardinals lineup for Monday's series opener against the Cubs.

Pirates prospect Josh Bell drove in all five runs for Double-A Altoona on Saturday.

Three of those runs came on a walk-off home run. The 22-year-old has been scorching hot, hitting .536 with nine RBI over his last six games. Bell's average has jumped from .280 to .372 during that stretch. He's collected nine walks this season to only seven strikeouts. With that kind of plate discipline, Bell should rise quickly through the Pirates' system.

Dillon Gee managed to only give up one run but wasn't sharp Sunday, yielding six hits and five walks over five frames in a loss.

Gee did record five punchouts, but he needed 94 pitches to get through five innings and was flirting with trouble all day. Although he wasn't great in this one, the right-hander has overall rebounded from a slow first two starts, allowing just four runs across his last three outings. He'll face the Phillies next weekend.
May 3 - 4:34 PM

Russell Martin went 2-for-5 with a solo home run as the Blue Jays lost to the Indians on Sunday.

With the Blue Jays down four runs in the top of the ninth, Martin hit a solo home run off of Cody Allen, but it didn't matter much. It's the fifth of the year for the catcher. He has done his part at the plate, batting .227/.366/.493 with 15 RBI.
