Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.
Frank Gore (concussion) also remained out on Wednesday. The 49ers are on a short week with a game against the Chargers on Saturday night. With both Hyde and Gore uncertain for Week 16, the 49ers signed RB Phillip Tanner on Wednesday. Alfonso Smith and Tanner are the lone healthy backs on the roster.
Frank Gore (concussion) remained sidelined at Wednesday's practice.
Gore says he feels normal, but has yet to be cleared by an independent neurologist. With Gore and Carlos Hyde (ankle, back) uncertain for Saturday's game against the Chargers, the 49ers signed RB Phillip Tanner on Wednesday.
Brandon LaFell (shoulder) was limited on Wednesday.
LaFell will continue to play through his shoulder injury. He's on the WR2 radar against the Jets in Week 16.
Shane Vereen (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Vereen hasn't had any setbacks with his ankle injury. He'll be a boom-or-bust FLEX option against the Jets for the fantasy finals.
Julian Edelman (concussion) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
The fact that Edelman is practicing is a good sign, but his Week 16 status is up in the air. Edelman will be a high-floor WR2 if active for Sunday's matchup with the Jets.
LeGarrette Blount (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
Blount was out-snapped and out-touched by Jonas Gray last week but did rush for 17 yards and one touchdown on eight carries. We'd tentatively expect Blount to play against the Jets, but he's barely on the RB3 radar.
Keenan Allen (ankle, collarbone) has been ruled out for Week 16 against the 49ers.
As expected. Seyi Ajirotutu will fill the No. 3 receiver role behind Malcom Floyd and Eddie Royal. Look for Antonio Gates to see a bump in targets. Those hanging onto Allen in re-draft leagues can safely cut ties with him.
Calvin Johnson (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice.
The Lions have been limiting Johnson's practice reps the last three weeks. He'll be a top-five receiver play for Sunday's game with the Bears.
