Doctors do not know yet if Dennis Pitta (hip surgery) will play football again.

New Jets starter Michael Vick says he has "to play with some type of control."

After relieving Geno Smith against the Bills last week, Vick committed three turnovers in three quarters. "Last week, I got too greedy," he said Wednesday. "I was trying to play like a 24-year-old Mike Vick." We don't expect Vick to shed his turnover-prone or injury-prone label, but he does have some fantasy upside thanks to his still dominant legs. Ideally, streamers will use him in a Week 10 home game against the Steelers rather than at Arrowhead against the Chiefs Sunday. Note that while starting for the Eagles in the first four games of last season, Vick averaged 270.0 pass yards, 57.0 rush yards and 1.7 total touchdowns per game. He knows this Marty Mornhinweg offense well thanks to their earlier time together in Philly.

Mark Ingram said he feels good despite the short recovery time ahead of Thursday's game against Carolina.

We're always a little leery of players in the Thursday games, especially running backs who touched the ball 25 times the previous Sunday. But the spot is right again for Ingram as Pierre Thomas is out and Khiry Robinson is highly questionable, leaving Ingram to carry the load against a Panthers team that is giving up 5.22 YPC to opposing running backs. He's a borderline RB1 option.

Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) is not even on the Week 9 injury report.

Patterson lightly bruised his left ankle in last week's win at Tampa, but it's obviously not a concern. He's trending up this week after seeing a season-high 12 targets and coming up with an encouraging 6-86-0 line. The Redskins are primed for a letdown after upsetting Dallas on Monday night.

Jaguars LT Luke Joeckel (concussion) has been cleared for non-contact work.

Joeckel still has some steps to get through in the concussion protocol, but has not been ruled out of Sunday's game at Cincy.

Jaguars TE Marcedes Lewis (ankle) has resumed practicing on a limited basis.

Lewis is eligible to come off short-term IR for Week 12. It appears he's on track to do so, which would really ding Clay Harbor's TE2 status.

49ers LG Mike Iupati has cleared the concussion protocol.

Iupati will return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Rams, sending Joe Looney back to the bench. Iupati has been one of the league's best run-blocking guards this season.

49ers ILB Patrick Willis (toe) returned to practice Wednesday.

It's Willis' first practice since going down in the Week 6 loss at Denver. He says he does not have turf toe, but rather a strained muscle in his toe. Consider Willis questionable for Sunday against the lowly Rams.
