Cody Zeller (quad) is not expected to play against the Pistons on Thursday.

His quad injury just won't go away. Frank Kaminsky should start and get heavy minutes against Andre Drummond.

Deron Williams plans to join the Cavs, according to the Associated Press.

He still has to clear waivers, but there are a ton of reports saying the Cavs will be signing the former All-Star. Williams played on Team USA with LeBron James, so those two are familiar playing next to each other despite not playing on the same NBA team. He will back up Kyrie Irving and could also see some minutes in two-PG lineups. Obviously his fantasy value takes a major hit.

Hollis Thompson has officially signed a 10-day contract with the Pelicans.

New Orleans needs to add some depth after trading away Langston Galloway, Buddy Hield and Tyreke Evans, so there's a chance Thompson will stick around all season. Even if he joins the rotation immediately, there's no clear path to fantasy relevance here.
Feb 23 - 6:09 PM

Corey Brewer went through practice on Thursday.

Coach Luke Walton doesn't expect Brewer to play many minutes in his debut on Friday. There are some minutes available with Lou Williams in Houston, but there's no need to add Brewer almost anywhere for fantasy.

Pelicans waive F Terrence Jones.

With the addition of DeMarcus Cousins, there just isn't going to be minutes for Jones in New Orleans. He should certainly receive some interest in the free agent market and some of the bad teams could claim him to give him minutes. Chances are his fantasy value drops on a new team, but he could still be worth stashing in deeper leagues to see where he winds up.

Jordan McRae is unlikely to remain on the Cavs once they sign Andrew Bogut and/or Deron Williams.

The Orange Mamba era look to be over. Once he clears waivers, he could receive plenty of interest on a 10-day deal from some shallower teams. McRae isn't worth stashing in most leagues yet.

Jeff Green will come off the bench against the Blazers on Thursday.

The Magic did not unload Jeff Green's deal and were surprisingly quiet today. Green figures to lose playing time going forward with the Magic wanting to get a look at their players under contract for 2017-18.
Feb 23 - 5:25 PM

Terrence Ross and Aaron Gordon will start at the forward spots against the Blazers on Thursday.

The Magic will have their new acquisition in the starting lineup for the first time. This offense doesn't have much perimeter scoring and Ross has actually been really good in isolation, so he may be busy to help out the points output. His upside in fantasy isn't the greatest due to how he's basically just good for scoring, but feel free to pick him up to see what happens.

RotoGrinders.com Daily Slant: Ross' presence in the starting lineup shifts Fournier up to SF and Aaron Gordon to PF. This bodes particularly well for Gordon, who is more likely to be a consistent contributor on the boards with this move and figures to have one of the safest floors on the Orlando side in terms of minutes. The match-up with Portland is a good one for Gordon - the Blazers rank 23rd in rebounding rate and 26th in defensive efficiency.
