Chris Colabello went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a losing effort against the White Sox on Monday.

Colabello broke a scoreless tie in the third inning with a solo home run to left-center off of Chris Sale. He has homered in back-to-back games and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, batting .335/.373/.518 with eight home runs and 32 RBI.

Melky Cabrera knocked in two runs with a double late in Monday's game against the Blue Jays to send the White Sox to a win.

Cabrera finished 2-for-4 on the evening. He doubled off of Mark Buehrle in the bottom of the eighth, knocking in a pair of runs to break a 2-2 tie. The veteran is on a five-game hitting streak and has performed much better at the plate as of late -- he had a .549 OPS as recently as June 20. Cabrera is batting .262/.302/.335 overall with three home runs and 32 RBI.

Mark Buehrle went all eight innings in a complete game loss to the White Sox on Monday, allowing four runs -- all unearned.

Buehrle was out-dueling Chris Sale until he relented three runs in the eighth inning on a Jose Abreu RBI single and a two-run double to Melky Cabrera. The lefty allowed nine hits and struck out only two batters, but didn't issue any walks. As far as unearned runs go, Buehrle hasn't allowed more than two in his last eight starts. He sports a terrific 3.38 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP and a 59/20 K/BB ratio over 114 1/3 innings. He will make his final start of the first half in Kansas City against the Royals.
Jul 6 - 10:15 PM

Chris Sale went all nine innings and limited the Blue Jays to two runs to earn the win on Monday.

Sale allowed two solo home runs: one to Chris Colabello in the third inning and one to Josh Donaldson in the sixth. That was it for run-scoring. Fresh off of his nomination to the 2015 All-Star roster for the American League, Sale gave up six hits overall, walked none, and struck out six. The lefty's streak of eight consecutive starts with double-digit strikeouts has come to an end. Now with a 2.80 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and 147/22 K/BB ratio over 112 1/3 innings, Sale will match up against the Cubs at Wrigley Field in his next start.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Athletics gave the Angels a flat "no" when they inquired on Josh Reddick.

MLB.com's Alden Gonzalez was the first to report of the Angels' interest in the outfielder. Rosenthal also notes that the Halos asked the A's about Ben Zobrist, as well. It appears that the A's aren't interested in dealing Reddick at this point, but it's certainly possible despite his reasonable contract.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Cubs are expected to target Howie Kendrick over the offseason.

They'll have to free up the logjam on their infield first, which likely would involve trading Starling Castro. Rosenthal notes that the Dodgers could attempt to re-sign Kendrick, and the Yankees would be a possible landing spot, as well. Kendrick, who will turn 32 on Sunday, is batting .292/.342/.416 with seven homers and 36 RBI this season.
Jul 6 - 9:11 PM

Yunel Escobar exited Monday's game versus the Reds with an undisclosed injury.

Escobar was seen stretching his legs a few times, so it appears to be something related to his lower half. The Nationals should provide an update on him later Monday.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rangers could attempt to trade Shin-Soo Choo.

Rosenthal says any deal involving Choo "almost certainly would need to wait until the offseason." The obstacles to dealing the outfielder are obvious, considering he's owed $102 million over the next five seasons and has just a .715 OPS in his one and a half seasons with the Rangers. Rosenthal notes that the Rangers desperately want to balance out their left-heavy lineup.
