White Sox placed OF Avisail Garcia on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Garcia pulled up lame trying to run out a grounder in the second inning on Monday and had to be helped off the field. There's no clear timetable for his return. Daniel Palka has been called up to take his place on the active roster for Chicago.

Trey Mancini (knee) struck out as a pinch hitter Monday against the Indians.

Mancini missed his third straight start Monday due to a bruised right knee. The hope is that he'll be ready to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday.
Apr 24 - 9:14 AM

Bradley Zimmer (ankle) went 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his return to action Monday against the Orioles.

Zimmer was scratched from Sunday's lineup with a mild right ankle sprain, but he's already feeling better. The 25-year-old is off to a rough start at the plate, batting just .236/.263/.327 across 18 games.

Shawn Kelley left Monday's appearance against the Giants due to irritation in the ulnar nerve in his elbow.

Kelley threw a total of four pitches in the sixth inning, the first of which was a two-run homer to Mac Williamson. He displayed diminished velocity in the frame and exited after spiking a pitch in the dirt. The plan calls for him to be reevaluated Tuesday, but he's almost certainly headed to the disabled list. Elbow problems are nothing new for Kelley, who has undergone Tommy John surgery twice in his career.
Apr 24 - 9:02 AM

Jason Vargas (hand) gave up three runs over four innings Monday in a rehab start with Triple-A Las Vegas.

The southpaw gave up three hits and walked a pair while striking out four. He got stretched out to 66 pitches in preparation for his season debut Saturday against the Padres. Vargas is getting a late start on the season after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his right (non-throwing) hand toward the end of spring training.
Apr 24 - 8:50 AM

J.T. Realmuto went 2-for-4 in a loss to the Dodgers on Monday.

Realmuto was one of the few players who had any offensive success for the Marlins on Monday, and it makes back-to-back multi-hit games for the backstop. After missing the first three-plus weeks of the season, he's coming out firing on all cylinders, and has a sizzling .438/.526/.625 line to begin his campaign. That should help the ole trade value.
Apr 24 - 1:35 AM

Enrique Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a homer in a win over the Marlins on Monday.

The homer was a solo shot, and it was the only run scored off of Jarlin Garcia in the game. Hernandez continues his strong start to his 2018 campaign, and has his OPS up to .860 on the season. He's a solid DFS option when he's in the lineup against southpaws, as he often is.
Apr 24 - 1:32 AM

Josh Fields earned his first save of the season by pitching a scoreless ninth in a victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Fields gave Kenley Jansen the night off, and while he did allow a hit, he was able to get out of the inning unscathed. Don't expect too many more save opportunities for Fields as long as he's in the Los Angeles organization, but he is off to an excellent start to 2018 as seen in his 0.82 ERA and 14/3 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
