Trea Turner had a monster night at the plate Tuesday, going 4-for-4 with a solo home run in the Nationals' win over the Orioles.

Turner's solo shot was the only hit the Nats had through the first four innings. The shortstop led off the fifth with a single and Washington's offense got to work after that, ultimately totaling 14 hits and nine runs. Turner's home run was his eighth on the season and first in 12 tilts.

Mike Clevinger fanned 10 while limiting the White Sox to one run in 7 2/3 innings in a victory Tuesday.

Half of Clevinger's six wins have come against the White Sox; he's allowed three earned runs and fanned 28 over 22 1/3 innings in his three starts against the team. His control still rates as uneven, but he's been so much better at avoiding walks than he was last year, making it quite possible that he'll maintain the strong results.

Carlos Rodon lost to the Indians after allowing four runs in 6 1/3 innings on Tuesday.

Rodon has had the misfortune of facing Boston and now Cleveland twice in his first three starts back from the disabled list, but he's held his own, amassing a 4.41 ERA to date. Things will get a little easier with the A's and Rangers up next.

Jace Peterson homered Tuesday in the Orioles' loss to the Nationals.

Peterson took Jefry Rodriguez deep with a two-run shot in the second inning to get the scoring going for the O's. It was his second home run in as many games after he failed to go deep a single time in his first 38 contests. Ultimately, if Peterson is going to provide any fantasy value at all in deep leagues, it's going to be with his wheels.

Charlie Tilson went 3-for-4 with a run scored Tuesday against the Indians.

Tilson needed to heat up to help his chances of staying in the majors following Avisail Garcia's return from the DL, and he has managed to go 12-for-34 in his last 10 games, raising his OPS from .494 to .633. It could be enough.

Drew VerHagen left an appearance Tuesday night against the Reds after suffering a nasal contusion.

VerHagen got hit in the face by a thrown ball while racing to cover first base on an unsuccessful attempt at a 3-6-1 double play in the bottom of the seventh inning. He'll undergo X-rays to determine whether he suffered any facial fractures.

Domingo German limited the Mariners to two runs – one earned – across seven innings Tuesday in the Yankees’ 7-2 win.

He gave up a solo home run to Nelson Cruz, but it was one of just two base knocks he permitted. German had his swing-and-miss stuff again in this one, whiffing nine over his seven frames while not issuing a walk. He boasts a 28/2 K/BB ratio over 19 innings across his last three starts, rebounding nicely from a rough four-start stretch. German will try to keep the momentum going Sunday in Tampa.

Marco Gonzales was roughed up for six runs over 6 1/3 innings Tuesday in the Mariners’ loss to the Yankees.

Gonzales whiffed five and issued only one free pass, but three of the eight hits he allowed left the yard. He does get credit for pitching into the seventh inning in a tough matchup at Yankee Stadium when he didn’t have his best stuff, but this was easily Gonzales’ worst showing in a month. It won’t get any easier Sunday in Boston.
