Joique Bell (knee) is listed as probable for Week 3.

Bell was limited in practice this week with a knee injury, but his status was never in doubt. He's a high-end RB2 against a Packers defense that's allowed 217 yards and three touchdowns in the first two games.

De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3.

Thomas got in a limited session Wednesday, but was ruled out after not practicing the last two days. Frankie Hammond will continue to replace him on punt returns.

Bernard Pierce (thigh) is listed as questionable for Week 3 at Cleveland.

Pierce did practice on a limited basis Friday, which indicates he's more likely than not to suit up against the Browns. Still, it's fair to wonder if an injury to Pierce could be the opening rookie Lorenzo Taliaferro needs to grab playing time. Pierce was ineffective for most of last Thursday night's game, before racking up garbage-time yards. Justin Forsett remains a change-up back.

Jalen Parmele will be the Cardinals' short-yardage and goal-line back going forward.

That's what Bruce Arians announced on Friday. Stepfan Taylor will not get goal-line carries in Jonathan Dwyer's absence, and nor will Andre Ellington. A 28-year-old journeyman, Parmele carries little or no fantasy valeu.

Carson Palmer (shoulder) will miss Week 3.

Drew Stanton will get another start. Palmer is doing everything he can to get the malfuntioning nerve in his throwing arm to start working again, but so far it hasn't. He's not worth holding onto in 10-team fantasy leagues.
Sep 19 - 3:38 PM

Cardinals coach Bruce Arians announced Friday that Drew Stanton will start at quarterback against the 49ers.

It's fine news for Larry Fitzgerald but concerning for Michael Floyd, whom Stanton missed on five of his six targets in last week's win over the Giants. Floyd had a 19-yard reception on the first play of the game, and from that point on turned in a goose egg. Until Carson Palmer (shoulder) returns, Floyd can only be viewed as a fantasy WR3. Fitzgerald is a WR2/3 option.

Cowboys MLB Rolando McClain (groin) is listed as doubtful for Week 3.

Dallas is allowing well over 5.0 YPC to enemy tailbacks through two games, but McClain has played stout run defense. This is a bump for Zac Stacy.

Coach Lovie Smith stated Friday that Josh McCown remains the Buccaneers' starting quarterback when healthy.

Shades of Rex Grossman. "Josh is our starter," Smith insisted. "We're looking at one game right now. It would be simple if Josh was the only guy who played bad. It seems like the only guy I'm asked about, 'is Josh your starter?' You can ask that about quite a few people, starting with me. Am I still the head coach based on that effort? But a little more goes into it than that." McCown suffered a sprained right (throwing) thumb in Thursday night's blowout loss to Atlanta. The Buccaneers aren't ready to hand the reins to Mike Glennon just yet.
