Eduardo Rodriguez allowed five hits over six innings and combined with three relievers on a shutout of the Mariners on Friday.

This makes seven straight quality starts for Rodriguez, who is showing real consistency for the first time in his career. He's 4-1 with a 2.77 ERA and a 59/21 K/BB ratio in 55 1/3 innings.

Jean Segura had three of the Mariners' six hits in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

He had their only extra-base hit, a double off Eduardo Rodriguez, and a stolen base. He's batting .346 to date. The only disappointment is that he's just 6-for-11 in steals.

Jake Lamb went 2-for-5 with a homer and two RBI as the Diamondbacks topped the Brewers 4-2 in 10 innings on Friday.

Lamb launched a solo homer in the fourth inning and plated another run with a double in the 10th as the Diamondbacks pulled away for good. The 26-year-old now has 14 home runs and 42 RBI to go along with a .284/.374/.591 batting line through 46 games. He has done next to nothing against southpaws, but that hasn’t stopped him from being arguably the top fantasy third baseman so far.

Fernando Rodney tossed a scoreless 10th inning Friday against the Brewers for his 13th save of the season.

Asked to hold a two-run lead, Rodney worked around a two-out single from Hernan Perez to secure the victory. The 40-year-old appeared on the verge of losing his closer job at the end of April, but he has allowed just two hits and three walks over 8 2/3 scoreless innings this month. He still holds an ugly 6.75 ERA, but he's second in the NL in saves.
May 27 - 12:33 AM

Corey Knebel blew a save Friday against the Diamondbacks after giving up a game-tying solo homer to Chris Iannetta.

Entering the top of the ninth inning with a 2-1 lead, Knebel retired the first two batters he faced before Iannetta took him deep. The Diamondbacks won the game in the 10th. This was Knebel’s second blown save of the season, but his first since officially taking over the closer job earlier this month. There’s no need for concern here. Knebel’s control can be shaky at times, but he continues to miss bats in bunches.

Zack Godley spun six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Brewers on Friday.

Yet another strong outing from Godley, who gave up five hits and walked one while striking out six. He exited the game in position for the victory, but the Brewers took the lead against the bullpen before the Diamondbacks tied things up in the ninth and won in the 10th. Godley has compiled a 1.99 ERA through five starts with a 26/11 K/BB ratio in 31 2/3 innings. He has issued just two walks in 13 innings across his last two starts and continues to build momentum as a fantasy option.
May 27 - 12:32 AM

Junior Guerra was strong in his return from the disabled list Friday, giving up one run over 5 2/3 innings against the Diamondbacks.

Out since Opening Day with a calf strain, Guerra gave up three hits and three walks in his return, with the only run scoring when Jake Lamb took him deep in the third inning. He struck out five and induced 15 swinging strikes in his 98 pitches. The 32-year-old surprised with a 2.81 ERA in 20 starts last season and while we’re not expecting a repeat, he’s capable of being a factor in mixed leagues.
May 27 - 12:31 AM

Hernan Perez went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in Friday’s extra-inning loss to the Diamondbacks.

Perez made the start in left field and batted third with Ryan Braun (calf) back on the disabled list. The 26-year-old was a valuable piece in fantasy leagues last year and is batting .274/.314/.479 with five home runs, 19 RBI, two steals, and 20 runs scored through 42 games this season. He’s in a great situation in this lineup, so he’s worth considering in mixed fantasy leagues as long as the playing time is there.
