Twins manager Paul Molitor said Friday that Byron Buxton (migraines) has shown "slight improvement."

The club hopes that Buxton will be ready for some light non-baseball activities at the ballpark soon. The young outfielder is eligible for activation on April 25 but it seems like he might need a little more time than that.

Jason Hammel had to settle for a no-decision after allowing just two runs over nine innings in Friday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers.

Hammel averaged less than 175 innings over the last three seasons even though he averaged 31 starts, which gives you an idea how rarely he pitches deep into games. He was rolling in this one, however, giving up just five hits and two walks with four strikeouts, as he threw just 101 pitches. The Royals couldn't get much done against Michael Fulmer and the Tigers' bullpen, though. Hammel will take a 3.20 ERA into next week's start versus the White Sox.

Orioles recalled LHP Tanner Scott from Triple-A Norfolk.

Scott allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings in a relief appearance earlier this month. The hard thrower will provide length in the bullpen.

Orioles optioned INF Engelb Vielma to Triple-A Norfolk.

Vielma was up for over a week but made just one start. The O's are replacing him with reliever Tanner Scott.

Tommy Pham (groin) is back in the Cardinals' lineup Friday.

Pham didn't start Thursday after suffering a minor right groin injury Tuesday, but he did appear as a pinch-hitter and is back in there Friday. He's in center field and batting leadoff against Brandon Finnegan and the Reds.

JaCoby Jones ripped a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday versus the Royals.

Poor Jason Hammel had to settle for a no-decision after allowing just two runs over nine innings, and reliever Brad Keller then retired just one batter before serving up Jones' walk-off shot. Jones also had a double and stole his third base of the season. The 25-year-old has tallied three straight multi-hit games.

Mike Moustakas smacked a solo home run in Friday's extra-innings loss to the Tigers.

Moustakas' blast off of Michael Fulmer in the sixth inning got the Royals on the board. It was hit only hit in five trips to the plate but now gives him five longballs on the season. "Moose" is obviously not going to continue at a .338/.356/.648 pace, but the Royals are certainly hoping he continues a strong first half so they can trade him in July.

Marlins placed RHP Odrisamer Despaigne on the 10-day disabled list with a right forearm strain.

Despaigne suffered the injury Thursday. It's unclear at this point how long he will be sidelined.
