Titans released FS Michael Griffin.

This move is not surprising. A first-round pick by the Titans in 2007, Griffin is a two-time Pro Bowler and led the league in interceptions in 2008, but his play has been declining for several seasons. The 31-year-old will struggle to get a long-term deal on the open market. The Titans saved $6.5 million against the cap by releasing Griffin.

Broncos GM John Elway said re-signing impending free agent ILB Danny Trevathan will be a priority.

Denver should retain restricted free agent ILB Brandon Marshall on a one-year tender, but keeping Trevathan around could prove more difficult. The Broncos are about to shell out a huge contract to Von Miller, need to fill a likely hole at quarterback, and want to retain DE Malik Jackson as well. Trevathan recorded 109 tackles and intercepted two passes in 2015.

Broncos GM John Elway said retaining impending free agent DE Malik Jackson is a priority.

Elway said the same about ILB Danny Trevathan, and the Broncos still need to either tag OLB Von Miller or give him a massive extension. With limited cap space and a likely hole at quarterback, it will be impossible for Denver to retain every piece of their historic defense. Jackson will be one of the hottest names available if he reaches the open market.

Panthers GM Dave Gettleman said he would consider using the franchise tag on impending free agent CB Josh Norman.

"You can't sign everybody," Gettleman said, "but we're going to everything we can to keep our core together." Norman is easily the Panthers' top concern heading into the offseason, and there is almost no chance they let him hit the open market. Whether by the tag or a long-term deal, Norman should remain in Carolina for the foreseeable future.

Broncos GM John Elway said there is "no deadline" for Peyton Manning to make his retirement decision.

Manning said Monday he plans to take "a few" weeks to make his decision. He will likely decide to retire, but if not he will put Elway in a tough spot. Manning is set to count $21.5 million against the cap, and his recent play does not justify that kind of hit. With his $19 million base salary set to guarantee on March 9, the Broncos need Manning to make his decision in the next month.

Pro Football Talk reports Broncos CB Aqib Talib could be suspended for intentionally tackling Corey Brown by his facemask in the Super Bowl.

Talib grabbed and twisted Brown down by his facemask inside the five-yard line in the second quarter. It was his second personal foul of the first half. Talib indicated after the game he intentionally grabbed Brown's facemask to make the tackle. "My teammates knew what it was," Talib said. "He was on the 3-yard line. (With) a personal foul, he was on the 1 1/2-yard line, so it is what it is." Talib was suspended one game earlier in the season for poking Colts TE Dwayne Allen in the eye.

Impending free agent WR Jerricho Cotchery wants to re-sign with Carolina.

Cotchery had a Super Bowl to forget, arguably dropping three passes including what would have been a critical first-down catch early in the game. Cotchery normally offers a reliable set of veteran hands, but he has not made much of an impact in his two seasons with the Panthers. Carolina could decide to move on as they attempt to upgrade the receiver position this offseason.

Impending free agent FB Mike Tolbert said he wants to remain with the Panthers.

He has yet to talk with the front office. With Tolbert unlikely to break the bank, it makes sense for Carolina to re-sign the versatile fullback. Tolbert earned First-Team All-Pro honors for the second time in his career in 2015.
