Chargers CB Jason Verrett has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his shoulder.

Verrett, the first-round rookie who has been excellent opposite Brandon Flowers, is out 2-3 weeks. After that, he'll be reevaluated with surgery an option if inflammation doesn't go down. It's a bit troubling as Verrett also had a medical red flag on him during the draft process after a labrum repair. The Chargers defense is turning into one we'd attack more often than shy away from when evaluating matchups.

Packers RG T.J. Lang has avoided any major structural damage to his left ankle.

Lang has been diagnosed with a sprain after getting carted off during Sunday night's Week 8 loss at New Orleans. Consider him questionable when the Packers come out of their bye. Lane Taylor and JC Tretter are replacement options.

Reggie Wayne (elbow) was not spotted at the beginning of Colts practice Thursday.

We're not going to jump to conclusions on Wayne because he typically takes a rest day each week. But with the bye coming in Week 10, it would make a lot of sense for the Colts to rest both his elbow and aging/surgically-repaired legs. Freak rookie Donte Moncrief would be a WR3 candidate against the Giants if Wayne ends up inactive.

Vontae Davis (knee) is practicing Thursday.

Davis went down early in the Week 8 loss to the Steelers and didn't return. But after an MRI came back clean, Davis is on track to suit up in Monday night's game against the Giants. He's PFF's No. 3 corner in terms of coverage this season, behind only Chris Harris and Brandon Flowers.

RB Trent Richardson (hamstring) and CB Vontae Davis (knee) are practicing Thursday.

Richardson was active in Week 8, but only as an emergency back behind Ahmad Bradshaw and Boom Herron. This week, he's on track for a much bigger role in Monday night's game against the Giants. Richardson was averaging 17.1 touches per game through the first seven weeks. Davis' ability to practice is bad news for Eli Manning and the Giants' wideouts, as Davis has emerged as a legit dominator on the perimeter.

Coach Jason Garrett said Thursday he's "certainly" optimistic Tony Romo (back) can play in Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Romo did not participate in the Thursday morning walkthrough and is unlikely to practice much -- if at all - this week. However, he doesn't have any structural damage in his back and we've seen him play through all kinds of pain before, often taking pre-game injections. Ultimately, owners should expect a game-time call ahead of the 1pm ET matchup against a leaky Cardinals secondary.

Rashad Jennings (knee) will not play in Monday's game against the Colts.

Jennings rehab from a Week 5 MCL sprain is not going as expected -- he hasn't even resumed practicing yet. We'll consider him questionable for Week 10. In the meantime, rookie Andre Williams will try to rebound from two ineffective and disappointing starts prior to the bye. Showing a lack of vision and a tendency to run to contact, Williams will only be a borderline RB2.

According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Bengals are "getting [Cedric] Peerman ready as a complimentary back to Jeremy Hill."

Gio Bernard (hip) is in doubt for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He couldn't finish last week's game and did not practice on Wednesday. The change-of-pace type Peerman has been on the fringe of Cincy's roster for the last five seasons, rushing just 54 times. The real winner if Gio sits, of course, would be rookie power back Jeremy Hill. He'd take on feature duties and would be a candidate for 20 touches.
