R.A. Dickey somehow managed to notch a quality start despite allowing 11 hits and three walks over six frames in Tuesday’s 6-5 win over the Pirates.

Pitching on three days’ rest, Dickey struck out just two and surrendered a home run to Jordy Mercer, but he managed to keep the Braves in the game, ultimately permitting three runs while throwing 102 pitches. Atlanta is probably satisfied with the knuckleballer’s 4.17 ERA, but it’s come along with an ugly 1.56 WHIP and 28/24 K/BB ratio over 54 innings. Dickey faces the Giants in San Francisco on Sunday.

Chris Herrmann finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's game against the White Sox.

Herrmann has homered in three consecutive starts, posting four RBI during the span. While Jeff Mathis is superior defensively, Herrmann's bat is coming alive and he is making it hard for skipper Torey Lovullo to keep the backstop on the bench. He remains a No. 2 fantasy option in NL-only leagues with some power upside.

Tyler Glasnow held the Braves to two runs over six innings Tuesday.

Glasnow surrendered nine hits – including a solo home run to Matt Adams – and also walked a pair, but he managed to hold Atlanta relatively in check. He also did his part and then some at the plate, picking up three singles in three at-bats. Glasnow remains volatile for fantasy purposes, as his penchant for free passes can result in blowup starts at any time. He faces the Mets on Sunday.

Tony Watson blew his second save of the season Tuesday in Atlanta.

Ender Inciarte reached on a one-out infield single and the scored the game-tying run on a Nick Markakis double. After an intentional walk to Matt Kemp, Matt Adams slashed a walk-off RBI single. Watson has been pretty shaky so far in May, allowing seven runs over nine appearances.

Fernando Rodney worked a perfect ninth inning in Tuesday's game against the White Sox for his 11th save of the season.

Rodney worked a tidy 12-pitch frame for his seventh consecutive clean appearance of May. After a rough April with a 12.60 ERA and two blown saves he appears to have ironed out his issues and is a perfect 5-for-5 on save chances in May.
May 24 - 2:03 AM

Jim Johnson allowed two runs to pick up his third blown save of the season on Tuesday against the Pirates.

Johnson was tasked with protecting a one-run lead but coughed it up by giving up three singles and a walk in the top of the ninth inning, which was punctuated by a Jordy Mercer two-RBI single. He was then pulled, and the Braves bailed him out by coming back in the bottom of the frame. Johnson holds an unsightly 3.66 ERA on the season, but it's come along with a nice 20/4 K/BB ratio over 19 2/3 innings.

Patrick Corbin allowed three earned runs while scattering eight hits over six innings in a win Tuesday against the White Sox.

The left-hander walked one and struck out five in the 91-pitch quality start. While he has struggled on the road with a 0-3 record and 7.31 ERA in three outing away from home, he is a respectable 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA through seven home starts. The Diamondbacks are also a perfect 6-0 over his past six assignments.

Matt Adams doubled, homered and hit a walk-off RBI single in Tuesday's win over the Pirates.

Adams struck out three times and hit into a double play in his Braves debut Sunday, but he’s now gone deep each of the last two nights and delivered a walk-off RBI single off of Pirates closer Tony Watson on Tuesday. He’s batted fifth in each of his first three contests with his new club and is worth a corner infield spot in deeper fantasy leagues.
