Falcons LT Jake Matthews (ankle) said he expects to play in Thursday's game against the Bucs.

Getting Matthews back would not only solidify Andy Dalton's blind side, but it would let Gabe Carimi take over at right tackle for struggling Lamar Holmes.

The NFL says the Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy cases are under review.

The Vikings chose to reinstate Peterson Monday, but deferred any questions about further discipline to the league office. The NFL's new hire Lisa Friel, a former New York prosecutor, is examining both cases. No one seems to know if the NFL has the power to step in and suspend Peterson, but we do know that FOX's Jay Glazer reported Sunday that the case falls under the new domestic violence policy. First-time offenders of that policy get a six-game ban. We'd try to hold Matt Asiata until the dust settles here.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution believes Roddy White (hamstring) and Julio Jones (ankle) will be ready for Thursday's game against the Bucs.

Beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter was merely responding to a question on Twitter, not reporting. We should get more from the team following Tuesday's practice. Owners that still want to protect themselves can add No. 3 wideout Harry Douglas.

Coach Andy Reid confirmed that the game plan won't change much if Knile Davis starts in place of Jamaal Charles (ankle) against the Dolphins Sunday.

Charles has missed all or most of the three games across the last two seasons. In those games, Davis is averaging 22.3 carries, 5.0 catches, 97.0 total yards and has scored six touchdowns. Reid and the Chiefs have every reason to be confident in the second-year back as someone they can build offense through. The RB-dependent scheme Reid has installed would stay intact, leaving Davis as a RB1 candidate.

Chiefs RB/WR De'Anthony Thomas (hamstring) could return for Week 3.

Thomas, the Chiefs' fourth-round rookie, has missed the first two weeks. Although he's listed as a running back, the 176-pounder is really a package player that won't pick up much slack if Jamaal Charles (ankle) sits.

Davante Adams out-snapped Jarrett Boykin 37-25 in Sunday's win over the Jets.

Boykin started as the No. 3 receiver, but got a quick hook after failing to come up with a tough pass in the red zone. Adams came on and immediately impressed, finishing with a 5-50-0 line on seven targets. If the second-round rookie hasn't forced an all-out rotation here, he's certainly breathing down the veteran's neck. Adams is worth an add in deeper formats just in case he steals the third wideout job full-time.

Hakeem Nicks caught one pass for minus-four yards in the Colts' Week 2 loss to the Eagles.

He was targeted three times on the night. Nicks' best opportunity came on an end-zone look, but it was a bit overthrown in good coverage. He's seen eight targets through two games with the Colts, and is no more than a WR4/5.

Dwayne Allen didn't catch a pass in the Colts' Week 2 loss to the Eagles.

Allen saw just one target on the night, but he blocked his butt off in the run game. He lost out to third-string TE Jack Doyle on a two-yard touchdown in the second quarter. OC Pep Hamilton and the coaches simply don't realize Allen's skill level as an all-around tight end. He'll get the Jaguars in Week 3.
