Patriots released DE Jake Bequette, TE Steve Maneri and LB Steve Beauharnais.

The 90th overall selection in the 2012 draft, Bequette has only played 43 snaps over his two-year career. Both Bequette and Beauharnais are eligible for the practice squad.

49ers waived RB Glenn Winston.

An UDFA out of Michigan State, Winston ran for 113 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries (5.9 YPC) this preseason. The 49ers are hoping to sneak him through waivers and develop him on their practice squad.

Jets released RB Alex Green.

Patriots waived RB Jonas Gray.

The Patriots are reportedly "hoping" to land Gray on their practice squad. The powerful, one-cut runner had 142 yards on 37 carries this preseason. The move likely means Brandon Bolden has made the team.

Broncos released DT Kevin Vickerson.

The 31-year-old Vickerson got his hip healthy in time to play in the final two preseason games, but it wasn't enough. Marvin Austin and Mitch Unrein are now the primary candidates to back up Terrance Knighton and Sylvester Williams.

Chiefs released OT J'Marcus Webb.

It is not a good sign for Webb that he could not stick with the lineman-needy Chiefs. Webb spent last season as a backup with the Vikings after a disastrous season with the Bears in 2012.

Jets waived WR Stephen Hill.

Hill got off to a hot start in spring practices but fell off a cliff once preseason got underway. He reeled in just 3-of-8 targets for 42 yards, while dropping two passes. Drops have been a recurring theme for the No. 43 overall pick in the 2012 draft. Hill has dropped nine of his 97 career targets. Hill still has enough raw talent to draw looks on waivers. He has ideal size (6'4/215) and speed (4.36 forty). We're not ruling out Hill eventually developing into a serviceable receiver somewhere outside of New York. He's only 23.
Aug 30 - 11:55 AM

Buccaneers release DT Matthew Masifilo.

A 2012 undrafted free agent out of Stanford, Masifilo has zero career appearances. Masifilo had seven tackles this preseason.
