Antonio Brown caught three passes for 59 yards in the Steelers' regular-season dress rehearsal against the Eagles.

Aug 21 - 10:24 PM

Riley Cooper caught three passes for 25 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Steelers.

It was Cooper's preseason debut after he missed the Eagles' first two games with a minor foot issue. Cooper could have had a touchdown, but committed a drop in the end zone. Although Cooper is locked into two-receiver sets, he's a deep threat who will remain a boom-or-bust WR3/4 for fantasy purposes.

Darren Sproles rushed six times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's regular-season dress rehearsal, adding one catch for four yards.

Mixing in with LeSean McCoy, Sproles got work between the tackles after Shady departed with a minor thumb injury. Coach Chip Kelly has been insistent that he views Sproles first-and-foremost as a running back, but catching passes remains where he'll make his biggest impact. He finishes the preseason with nine carries for 44 yards, and three catches for 17 yards. He's an RB4, though a viable FLEX play in PPR leagues.
Aug 21 - 10:05 PM

Ben Roethlisberger completed 15-of-24 passes for 157 yards, a touchdown and interception in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles.

Big Ben's score, a 27-yard strike to Heath Miller, came deep into the second half against the Eagles' second-team defense. Roethlisberger and the Steelers' first-team struggled mightily against Philly's starters, with Big Ben tossing a horrid pick on an ill-advised freelance. He also showed noticeably-little chemistry with No. 2 receiver Markus Wheaton. Barring a surprise appearance in the Steelers' preseason finale, Roethlisberger finishes August 24-of-37 for 328 yards (8.86 YPA), three scores and a pick. He's a low-end QB1 with top-eight upside.
Aug 21 - 9:56 PM

Jordan Matthews caught two passes for 16 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Steelers.

With Jeremy Maclin back in the picture, Matthews was limited to three targets one week after exploding for 9/104 on nine looks. The good news is, he ran in three-wide sets with the first-team offense, and lined up both out of the slot and in the backfield. There's a chance Matthews could get some run in next week's preseason finale, but if not, Philly's slot receiver finishes August with 15 catches for 134 yards. He's an upside WR4/5.

Steelers OLB Jason Worilds was forced from Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles with a right knee injury, and will not return.

Worilds suffered the injury on a third-quarter sack of Mark Sanchez. The severity is unclear. If it's in any way serious, the Steelers are going to be kicking themselves for playing one of their most-important defenders so deep into an exhibition game. With Worilds playing under the franchise tag, the sides have been discussing a long-term deal.

Eagles WR Arrelious Benn was forced from Thursday's preseason game against the Steelers with a head injury, and will not return.

Benn, who wasn't targeted before going down, is quite likely concussed. It's bad news for a player trying to make the team after missing all of 2013 with a torn ACL. If Benn can't suit up for next week's finale, he'll finish the preseason with one catch for six yards. He's a poor bet to crack the 53-man roster.
Aug 21 - 9:45 PM

Jeremy Maclin caught 6-of-8 targets for 43 yards in Thursday's preseason game against the Steelers.

Maclin moved well after being slowed by knee and hamstring issues in camp, but gave the Eagles the scare of a lifetime when he went down untouched in the first half. His right, surgically-repaired knee appeared to give out, but he walked off the field under his own power before returning to the game a short time later. Maclin's injury history makes him a dicey WR3 proposition in the Eagles' spread-the-wealth passing attack, but his WR2 upside is worth the risk.
