Tigers designated RHP Drew VerHagen for assignment.

VerHagen, 27, was removed for the 40-man roster in order to create space for Mike Gerber, who was called up Monday. The right-hander has struggled in his nine appearances for the Tigers in 2018, with a 6.30 ERA and seven walks in 10 innings as evidence.

Adam Lind will make a $2 million salary if he is called up to the Yankees.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today also reports that there are three opt-outs for Lind, as he can elect free agency if he's not on the New York roster on May 1, June 1 and July 1. The 34-year-old first baseman was released by the Yankees in the middle of spring training, but re-signed with New York last week to a minor league deal. He'll have to hit in his time with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but if Tyler Austin continues to hit, it may not matter.

Reds released OF Adam Brett Walker.

Walker, 26, was signed by the Reds as a minor league free agent in August. He's shown tremendous power in his time with several organizations, but he's also struck out 866 times in 663 minor league games.

Braves outrighted RHP Luke Jackson to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Jackson was designated for assignment last week, and after clearing waivers, he's being sent to Gwinnett to likely joins the Stripers' bullpen.

White Sox OF prospect Micker Adolfo will undergo an MRI soon to check on his strained UCL and flexor tendon.

Adolfo is trying to "rest" the injury rather than undergo surgery, as going under the table would likely cause the 21-year-old to miss all of the 2018 season and could bleed into 2019. He recently told MLB.com's Scott Merkin that he doesn't feel strain or sore during workouts, which could be a positive sign. We should know more about Adolfo's ETA after the MRI.

Danny Farquhar will stay in the hospital for at least the next three weeks after having surgery to remove the swelling in his brain.

Farquhar suffered a hemorrhage in the sixth inning of Friday's game, and was rushed to the hospital after passing out in the dugout. He's currently listed as being in critical but stable condition, and reports indicate that more information isn't being released at the request of Farquhar's family.

Yasmani Grandal delivered a two-run double in the sixth inning on Sunday, helping to lead the Dodgers to a 4-3 victory over the Nationals.

Taylor doubled off of Jeremy Hellickson with one out in the sixth inning, sparking a three-run rally that tied the game. He has struggled at the dish in the early going this season, slashing just .239/.277/.432 with three homers and eight RBI.
