Chargers worked out free agent RBs RB Shaun Draughn and D.J. Adams.

The Bolts need a back after sending Danny Woodhead (ankle) to injured reserve. The player they probably wanted to sign, Marion Grice, was plucked off their practice squad by the Cardinals on Monday. The Chargers took Grice with the 201st pick of May's draft.

The Jets are unsure if CB Dee Milliner (quad) will be available for Week 5.

Milliner has appeared in just one of the Jets' first three games as he battles ankle and quad issues. The Jets have been rolling with Darrin Walls and S Antonio Allen in his absence. Milliner should be considered week to week.

Speaking Tuesday, Jets coach Rex Ryan forcefully stood behind Geno Smith as his starting quarterback.

"I've seen him make huge improvements from where he was last year," Ryan said. "I think he's going to continue to improve." Smith threw two brutal picks in Monday's loss, but was playing without No. 1 receiver Eric Decker. Ryan is not imagining Smith's improvement, as he upped his completion percentage from 55.8 to 63.1, and generally appeared more accurate. Smith's decision-making remains his Achilles' heel, but he's not the primary reason the Jets are 1-2. Smith deserves more time under center.

Titans waived WR T.J. Graham.

TE Chase Coffman was signed in a corresponding roster move. A 2012 third-round pick of the Bills, Graham was claimed off waivers at final cuts, but had yet to be active this season. Graham's draft pedigree and 4.34 wheels should earn him another look, but he's looking less and less likely to carve out a career as a situational deep threat.

Ravens placed TE Dennis Pitta on injured reserve with a dislocated hip, ending his season.

Pitta, who is also dealing with a fracture, underwent surgery on Monday. Although he's just 29, Pitta's second hip dislocation in as many years has put his career in serious doubt. Pitta is signed through 2018, while his $4 million base salary for 2015 is guaranteed. Pitta and the Ravens have some hard decisions to make in the offseason.

Speaking Tuesday, Jets coach Rex Ryan said Chris Ivory could get more playing time going forward.

"Maybe Chris Ivory will get more time," were Ryan's exact words. "He's running hard. ... There's not a whole lot of guys who want to tackle him." Ivory has run circles around Chris Johnson the past two weeks, but only out-touched him 28-23. CJ?K has out-snapped Ivory 54-52 since Week 2. For the season, Ivory is averaging a robust 5.7 yards per carry compared to just 3.5 for his more famous teammate. Ivory, who's never been known for his hands, has even out-caught Johnson 5-1 over the past two games. The Jets seem to be seeing what everyone else is seeing: Ivory is their best back, and it's not close. Ivory is an upside RB2/FLEX, with Johnson shaping up as a middling RB3.

Cowboys re-signed DE LaVar Edwards.

Edwards was waived on Saturday. To create a spot for his return, the Cowboys have waived LB Keith Smith.

The Miami Herald expects Ryan Tannehill to remain the Dolphins' starting quarterback for Week 4.

Per reporter Armando Salguero, that fact "(seemed) obvious" to several Dolphins players in the locker room on Tuesday. Salguero's colleague Adam Beasley echoed the sentiment. Coach Joe Philbin has gone out of his way to avoid calling Tannehill his Week 4 starter, but it appears to be little more than a bizarre motivational ploy. Tannehill has undeniably struggled this season, but it's hard to believe the Dolphins could actually think backup Matt Moore gives them a better chance to win.
