Tyler Flowers is not in the White Sox' lineup Sunday.

It's simply a routine day off. Geovany Soto is behind the plate Sunday in Flowers' place.
May 3 - 11:34 AM

Adam Eaton (illness) remained out of the White Sox' lineup Sunday.

He's now poised to miss the entire three-game set in Minnesota. Eaton should be ready to go after Monday's off day. J.B. Shuck is in center field again Sunday in Eaton's place.
May 3 - 11:33 AM

Hyun-Jin Ryu (shoulder) is expected to throw live batting practice at some point this week.

Ryu has been throwing off a mound for a week and is nearing the next step. A rehab assignment will be just around the corner after he faces hitters. Ryu is still weeks away from a return, but he's finally showing some real progress. The Dodgers could really use him after losing Brandon McCarthy (elbow).
May 3 - 11:30 AM

Mat Latos (hamstring) has been cleared to start on Tuesday versus the Nationals.

Latos had to exit his last outing with a strained left hamstring, but he's apparently made a nice recovery over the last few days. The veteran right-hander is off to a disappointing start this season with a 6.86 ERA over his first five starts.
May 3 - 11:25 AM

Matt Wieters admitted Sunday that he still feels occasional soreness in his surgically-repaired right elbow.

The Orioles are viewing it as part of the recovery process, but Wieters' absence has clearly dragged on longer than expected. He's still catching games at extended spring training and a date for him to begin a rehab assignment hasn't been set yet. At this point it's looking unlikely that Wieters will return before late May/early June.
May 3 - 11:23 AM

Luis Valbuena is not in the Astros' lineup Sunday.

It looks like he's just getting a day off. Jonathan Villar is at third base Sunday in Valbuena's place.
May 3 - 11:18 AM

Francisco Cervelli is absent from the Pirates' lineup Sunday.

He's just getting a breather as many catchers do on Sunday. Chris Stewart is behind the dish in Cervelli's place.
May 3 - 11:17 AM

Neil Walker is not in the Pirates' lineup Sunday.

It appears that he's just getting a breather. Josh Harrison is at second base in Walker's place Sunday, with Jung Ho Kang covering third.
