Suspended Browns WR Josh Gordon insists he does not have addiction issues, and says he believed he was no longer being tested for alcohol following the regular season.

Writing in an open letter, Gordon took his critics to task, trying to paint a picture of a player who has been more unlucky than wayward. He continues to insist his failed 2014 marijuana test was the result of second-hand smoke. He also says the alcohol that led to his failed test earlier this month was consumed on a flight with other Browns players, and was the first time he had drank since his July 2014 DWI. Gordon said he's not yet sure if he will appeal year-long ban for 2015. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding his troubles, Gordon is out of second chances with the NFL. He needs to avoid trouble of any kind from here on out.

Asked if he expects to return as the Eagles' starter in 2015, Nick Foles responded "(I plan on) being in Philly."

"I only listen to the people at the (Eagles') facility," Foles said. "(Coach/GM Chip Kelly is) the one that will make the decision." It's certainly notable that Foles wasn't unequivocal when asked if he'll be starting. Heading into the final year of his rookie contract, things are completely up in the air for Foles. He could be traded, benched or retain his starting job.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram says there's a "real good chance" the Cowboys won't tender restricted free agent RB Lance Dunbar.

It would cost the Cowboys only $1.575M to tender Dunbar at the lowest level. That may be too much to pay for a satellite back that touched the ball 2.9 times per game in 2014. The Cowboys appear to be higher on a now-healthy Ryan Williams.

Ryan Williams' two-year contract with the Cowboys includes a $240K signing bonus and an average salary of $750K for 2015 and 2016.

It's a nice chunk of change for a running back who has appeared in just five NFL games since 2011. It speaks to Williams' talent, as Dallas made it a priority to keep him in the mix as DeMarco Murray preps for free agency. Williams, finally healthy after myriad knee and shoulder issues, should be monitored closely this offseason. The Star-Telegram says there's a "good chance" RFA Lance Dunbar won't be tendered.

ESPN's Adam Schefter says at least six teams have done background work on Adrian Peterson in the event he becomes available.

Peterson's legal issues coupled with his $15.4M cap number mean he could very well be headed for a split from the Vikings. He won't lack for suitors even at age 30, as he's proven repeatedly that he is built differently than mere mortals. Schefter mentions the Cowboys as a possible landing spot if DeMarco Murray moves on in free agency.

ESPN's Adam Schefter says there's a "real sense" Tampa Bay has its sights set on Oregon QB Marcus Mariota at No. 1 overall.

Schefter concedes that "many NFL executives and scouts believe Florida State's Jameis Winston is the best pro quarterback prospect in this draft." But perhaps the Bucs and new OC Dirk Koetter see things differently, placing more stock in Mariota's mobility and clean off-field resume. More likely, there's just a lot of speculation out there right now with the draft still three months away. We're skeptical the Bucs have come close to making up their mind yet.

Le'Veon Bell said his knee is at about "85-90 percent."

Bell hyperextended his right knee in Week 17 and missed the Wild Card loss to the Ravens as well as the Pro Bowl. He's resumed running on it and should be at 100 percent for the full offseason program. Bell, now entering his age-23 season, is going to push for 370+ touches again in 2015.

Eagles hired Ed Marynowitz as VP of Player Personnel.

The January power struggle between Chip Kelly and Howie Roseman resulted in Roseman getting promoted out of personnel decisions and Kelly getting to choose a new right-hand man for player evaluation. After a month-long search, he settles in-house on 30-year-old Marynowitz, who worked under Nick Saban at Alabama before joining the Eagles in 2012. "I can't tell you how well thought of Ed is in the scouting business," Kelly said.
