The Seahawks have opened extension talks with RCB Byron Maxwell.

An impending free agent, re-signing Maxwell is one of GM John Schneider's top priorities. He's been a major part of Seattle's defense the last two years since taking over for Brandon Browner, and would draw interest from multiple teams on the open market. Maxwell is Rotoworld's No. 1 free-agent corner.

Free agent CB Ike Taylor said he's "training as if he'll be playing in 2015."

Taylor isn't expected to be re-signed by the Steelers, but reportedly wants to play 2-3 more years. He's open to moving to safety to prolong his career. Entering his age 35 season, Taylor will struggle for guaranteed money on the open market. Taylor has interest in following ex-Steelers DC Dick LeBeau to another team.

Louisville DC Todd Grantham has turned down the Raiders' defensive coordinator job.

The Raiders made a two-year offer to Grantham, but he'll remain at Louisville as one of the highest paid college coordinators. Grantham may not have been given full control over playcalling under Jack Del Rio, which likely factored into his decision. The Raiders have been linked to Wade Phillips and interviewed ex-Falcons coach Mike Smith earlier this month, but have no other known candidates for their DC job.

Prince Amukamara (biceps) expects to be ready for the start of OTAs.

Amukamara missed the final eight games of 2014 with a torn biceps. He's scheduled to make $6.898 million next year after the Giants exercised his fifth-year option and could be a candidate for an extension. Amukamara had 46 tackles, three interceptions, and 11 pass deflections despite playing just 464 snaps last season.

Jaguars hired Nathaniel Hackett as QBs coach.

Hackett was also in the running for the Rams offensive coordinator vacancy, but pulled out of his second interview. In Jacksonville, he'll settle for a position coach role after serving as Buffalo's OC the last two years. Hackett will be tasked with developing Blake Bortles, who is coming off a turnover-prone rookie season.

The Raiders have offered Todd Grantham a two-year deal to become their defensive coordinator.

Grantham is considered the favorite for Oakland's DC job. He should join Jack Del Rio's staff after coordinating in the college ranks the last four seasons. It's possible Grantham wouldn't have full control over play-calling under defensive-minded Del Rio. Grantham led Louisville to a top-six defense in 2014.

Redskins hired Matt Cavanaugh as QBs coach.

Washington is bringing in a quarterbacks coach after not having one during Jay Gruden's first season. Cavanaugh spent the last two years working with Jay Cutler while on Marc Trestman's staff, but has an extensive track record as both a position coach and coordinator. He's mostly worked with pocket passers throughout his career and isn't a great fit for Robert Griffin III. The Redskins had one of the worst passing attacks in the league last season with Griffin, Kirk Cousins, and Colt McCoy combining for just 18 touchdowns.

Ravens FS Will Hill has a warrant out for his arrest in New Jersey for failure to pay his child support.

It's not the worst crime in the world as long as Hill pays the $16,588 he owes, but any trouble is bad trouble for Hill, who has been battling off-field issues since entering the league. Hill needs to keep his nose clean. He's long on talent but has proven to be short on common sense. The Ravens are aware of the issue.
