Twins 2B prospect Jorge Polanco went 2-for-4 with a double on Saturday for High-A Fort Myers.

The switch-hitting Polanco is hitting .351/.448/.474 with five doubles and a triple. He also has nine walks and only five strikeouts, displaying his strong batting eye and ability to make solid contact. Polanco is likely the second baseman of the future for the Twins, and will force Eddie Rosario into left field. If you are looking for a high-average second base prospect, Polanco is your man.

Yankees optioned RHP Matt Daley to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Daley was only up for a day, as he allowed six runs -- four earned -- over 1 1/3 innings in Saturday's 16-1 loss to the Rays. He could be back later this season.

Yankees activated 1B Mark Teixeira from the 15-day disabled list.

Teixeira wound up missing the minimum amount of time with a hamstring strain. He returns to a .250/.308/.250 batting line and is at first base and hitting fifth in Sunday's game against the Rays.
Apr 20 - 10:45 AM

Royals outfield prospect Jorge Bonifacio with 2-for-5 with two doubles on Saturday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

He is hitting only .222/.319/.349 for the season, but he is hitting .286/.333/.571 with two doubles and a triple over his past three games. Bonifacio still profiles as a low-average hitter with above-average power, so his high strikeouts and low average in Double-A is not particularly troubling.

Bryce Harper is back in the Nationals' lineup Sunday.

Harper was pulled from Saturday's game for not running out a grounder, but he's back in there a day later. The 21-year-old is batting .295/.348/.426 with one homer and five RBI in the early going.
Apr 20 - 10:43 AM

Tigers purchased the contract of INF Danny Worth from Triple-A Toledo.

The Tigers have given up on the Alex Gonzalez experiment already, so Worth and Andrew Romine will handle the shortstop duties. Worth was batting .308/.345/.404 over his first 14 games at Toledo.
Apr 20 - 10:38 AM

Astros shortstop prospect Carlos Correa went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, and walk on Saturday for High-A Lancaster.

After a pair of hitless games, Correa had a big game on Saturday and lifted is season slash line to .281/.338/.469. He has six walks and nine strikeouts on the season, displaying his advanced batting eye and hand control. The Astros are going slowly with the former #1 overall pick, so he may not see time in Double-A until 2015.
Apr 20 - 10:37 AM

Tigers released SS Alex Gonzalez.

Well, that didn't last long. Desperate for a replacement for Jose Iglesias, the Tigers traded Steve Lombardozzi for Gonzalez in a late-spring deal. The veteran infielder wound up lasting just three weeks, as he hit just .167/.219/.233 while showing diminished range in the field. The Tigers will go with Andrew Romine and Danny Worth at shortstop.
