Anthony DeSclafani (oblique) could join the Reds' rotation next week against the Cardinals.

He struck out seven batters over four innings of one-run ball Monday in his second rehab start with Triple-A Louisville. DeSclafani will make one more minor league appearance on Saturday before possibly taking the ball for the Reds next Thursday versus St. Louis. The right-hander has been out all season with an oblique strain. He was a popular fantasy sleeper before the injury and is worth a stash in deeper leagues.

Mike Minor is experiencing fatigue in his rotator cuff and will be examined by Royals doctors.

Royals manager Ned Yost told reporters Tuesday that it's nothing serious, but there's no way of saying that for sure until Minor undergoes some tests. Minor missed the entire 2015 season with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He is currently on the 60-day major league disabled list.

Kenta Maeda has some residual swelling in his right hand and might not pitch Thursday.

Maeda was struck in the hand by a comebacker in his last start Saturday against the Mets. X-rays turned up negative, but even a little swelling can affect the right-hander's delivery. Maeda was lined up to start Thursday's series finale at Wrigley Field.

Jose Reyes (suspension) will join Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday for a rehab assignment.

Reyes has been getting into baseball shape for the last two weeks at the Rockies' spring training complex in Arizona and can begin playing in live games June 1, when his domestic violence suspension officially comes to an end. The veteran shortstop is expected to spend two weeks in the minor leagues. Beyond that, it's not exactly clear what the plan is.
May 31 - 5:59 PM

Giants manager Bruce Bochy is hopeful Angel Pagan (hamstring) will be ready for activation from the disabled list when first eligible.

That would be June 8. Pagan has been pretty productive this season when healthy, but left hamstring problems have limited the veteran outfielder to 35 games. Jarrett Parker and Gregor Blanco have been sharing left field duties for San Francisco lately.
May 31 - 5:54 PM

Sergio Romo (elbow) will be shut down 4-5 days.

Romo began experiencing arm fatigue last week after beginning a minor league rehab assignment and he had to be scratched from an appearance Monday night at High-A San Jose. A followup MRI on his right elbow showed no structural damage, so the Giants are optimistic Romo can restart his rehab assignment this weekend. He's been out since mid-April because of a flexor strain.

Alex Wood is questionable for his next start due to soreness in his left triceps.

Wood woke up with the discomfort Tuesday after lasting just five innings Monday in a loss to the Cubs. He was set up for a juicy weekend matchup against the Braves. There should be an update Wednesday.
May 31 - 5:49 PM

Andre Ethier (leg) still hasn't been cleared to begin baseball-related activities.

Ethier was given a 10-14 week recovery timetable when he fractured his right tibia in March, but that can be trashed now. The veteran outfielder would have to hustle to make it back before the All-Star break.
