Collin McHugh (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Corpus Christi on Friday.

McHugh has been out all season with a posterior impingement in his right elbow but he made nice progress lately. The hope is that he'll be an option for the Astros' rotation just after the All-Star break.

Jed Lowrie (knee) is back in the Athletics' lineup Tuesday.

Lowrie missed the last two games after tweaking his right knee. He's at second base and hitting third against Mike Fiers and the Astros.

Yankees recalled LHP Tyler Webb from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Webb was just sent down Monday but can be recalled because he's replacing an injured player. The lefty will work in middle relief.
Jun 27 - 4:50 PM

Yankees optioned RHP Jonathan Holder to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Holder had pitched well for the Yanks this season before a rough recent stretch. Tyler Webb is taking his spot in the bullpen.
Jun 27 - 4:48 PM

Yankees purchased the contract of INF/OF Tyler Wade from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Wade, 22, has batted .313/.390/.444 with five homers and 24 stolen bases for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. He can play all over the field but figures to see most of his starts at second base while Starlin Castro (hamstring) is sidelined. Wade is worth picking up in deeper leagues.
Jun 27 - 4:46 PM

Yankees placed 2B Starlin Castro on the 10-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain.

Castro suffered the injury on Monday while running out a groundball. It's unclear at this point how long he'll be sidelined. Tyler Wade is replacing Castro on the roster and figures to play a lot at second base. Ronald Torreyes is starting there Tuesday, and Rob Refsnyder is also an option.
Jun 27 - 4:44 PM

Carlos Beltran is not in the Astros' lineup Tuesday.

Josh Reddick isn't playing, either. The Astros have Evan Gattis in the designated hitter spot and Jake Marisnick in center field.
Jun 27 - 4:22 PM

Nick Travieso underwent right shoulder surgery recently.

It's unclear what the exact nature of the procedure was, but the former first-round pick is done for the season. Travieso has been hurt since the beginning of spring training with what the Reds had initially called a biceps injury.
