Reds optioned OF Jesse Winker to Triple-A Louisville.

Winker was only with the club for a few days as extra depth in the outfield, but was sent back down to make room for Homer Bailey who was activated from the disabled list on Saturday. Winker hit .273/.273/.455 with no homers and four RBI in 11 at-bats with the Reds.

Reds activated RHP Homer Bailey from the 60-day disabled list.

The veteran right-hander will return to the Reds' rotation on Saturday against the Nationals. He registered a 1.08 ERA and 17/3 K/BB ratio across 16 2/3 innings over three minor league rehab starts. He draws a difficult first assignment, but certainly has the skills and the track record to be an asset in mixed leagues.

Athletics placed INF Chad Pinder on the 10-day disabled list with a left hamstring strain.

Pinder sustained the injury during Friday's victory over the White Sox. Franklin Barreto has been recalled in a corresponding move and will take over as the club's primary shortstop, at least on an interim basis.

Athletics recalled SS Franklin Barreto from Triple-A Nashville.

The club's top prospect, the 21-year-old Barreto was hitting .281/.326/.428 with eight homers, 32 RBI and four stolen bases at Triple-A. He'll function as the team's primary shortstop until Marcus Semien is ready to return from the disabled list.

Bret Gardner is not in the Yankees' starting lineup on Saturday.

Gardner will get a breather after crushing a game-tying home run in the ninth inning on Friday night. Mason Williams is starting in center field and batting leadoff for the Bombers on Saturday.
Jun 24 - 10:33 AM

Gary Sanchez is absent from the Yankees' starting lineup for Saturday afternoon's game against the Rangers.

It's nothing more than a regular day of rest for the hard-hitting backstop. Austin Romine will start in his place behind the dish and bat ninth for the Yankees against Austin Bibens-Dirkx and the Rangers.
Jun 24 - 10:31 AM

Jonathan Lucroy is not in the Rangers' starting lineup on Saturday.

Lucroy will take a seat in favor of Robinson Chirinos with the Rangers playing an afternoon game after a night game. He'll be back in there for Sunday's series finale.
Jun 24 - 10:29 AM

Rangers recalled INF/OF Drew Robinson from Triple-A Round Rock.

The 25-year-old utility man will function as bench depth for the Rangers for a couple of days. Robinson was hitting .273/.380/.524 with 11 homers and 35 RBI in 58 games at Triple-A.
