Zach Britton notched a one-out save in a win over the Marlins on Friday.

Brad Brach started the ninth inning after pitching a scoreless eighth, but he gave up a solo homer to Justin Bour and an infield single to Ichiro Suzuki before Buck Showalter decided to make a change. Britton quickly got Adeiny Hechavarria to ground out to end it. Fantasy owners won't complain. The southpaw is 10-for-11 in save opportunities this season while posting a 2.76 ERA and 22/3 K/BB ratio over 16 1/3 innings.

Ubaldo Jimenez was handed a no-decision Friday after giving up three runs over four innings against the Marlins.

Jimenez was in trouble throughout his brief outing and was fortunate that things weren't worse. All told, he gave up seven hits and a walk while striking out four. Orioles manager Buck Showalter decided to pinch-hit for him after he reached 87 pitches through four innings. His ERA jumped from 2.43 to 2.82 in the no-decision. He'll look to bounce back next week against the Astros.

Dee Gordon stole four bases Friday against the Orioles.

It tied his career-high and tied the Marlins record, which was set by Luis Castillo back in 2000. Gordon finished the night 2-for-5 with a run scored and is batting .386 with 16 steals through 40 games.

Justin Bour went 2-for-5 with a solo homer Friday against the Orioles.

It was his second home run of the season. Bour was getting another start at first base in place of Michael Morse, who collected a pinch-hit RBI double on Friday. The 26-year-old could take away more at-bats if Morse continues to struggle.

Garrett Richards allowed a season-high five runs over six-plus innings in Friday's 12-5 win over the Red Sox.

Back in the place where he tore the patellar tendon in his left knee last August, Richards wasn't particularly sharp, as he gave up nine hits and two walks while hitting a batter. He was pulled with the bases loaded in the seventh inning. Fortunately for him, he got plenty of run support. Oddly, Richards struck out just one of the 29 batters he faced Friday. He hasn't exactly looked like the ace he was prior to his knee surgery, but he still owns a quality 2.98 ERA through his first seven starts this season.
May 23 - 12:16 AM

Rick Porcello was tagged for seven runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Angels on Friday.

It was his shortest outing of the season. Porcello gave up two runs over the first four innings before coming unglued in the fifth, which ended up being a nine-run inning for the Angels. The final run was charged to him after he was pulled from the ballgame. His ERA jumped from 4.26 to 5.07 with the clunker. He'll try to wipe the slate clean with a start against the Twins on the road next week.

Chris Iannetta connected for a three-run homer and drew two walks in Friday's blowout win over the Red Sox.

His three-run blast was the big blow in a nine-run fifth inning for the Angels. Iannetta got off to a miserable start this season, but he has shown signs of life in recent days by going 8-for-18 (.444) with two home runs, two doubles, and seven RBI over his last five games.
May 23 - 12:14 AM

Mike Trout went 3-for-6 with an RBI single, a run scored, and a stolen base Friday against the Red Sox.

Trout was initially ruled out while trying to steal third base in the top of the fifth inning, but the call was overturned after an instant replay review revealed his nifty slide to avoid the tag. He already has eight stolen bases through 42 games this season after swiping 16 all of last year. The 23-year-old has three straight multi-hit games, which has pulled his batting average up to .303 on the year.
