49ers signed DT Tony McDaniel.

The 49ers have also signed Leger Douzable. McDaniel made 10 starts for the Seahawks last season, but couldn't make it out of camp with the Saints. He'll provide defensive line depth with Arik Armstead (hand) on the shelf.

Speaking Tuesday, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed C.J. Prosise (ankle) is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Prosise hasn't played since Week 3. He's badly needed to provide a change-of-pace element in the Seahawks' jumbled backfield. It's unclear if Prosise's return will glue J.D. McKissic to the sideline.

Michael Bennett is expected to play through his foot injury against the Giants.

Bennett is dealing with plantar fasciitis, which is a lingering injury that only gets better with rest. Bennett played through the issue in Week 5, finishing the Seahawks' win over the Rams. Bennett's practice time figures to be limited for the foreseeable future, but he should be out there on Sundays.

Seahawks LG Luke Joeckel is out 4-5 weeks after undergoing knee surgery.

Joeckel underwent an arthroscopic operation during the Seahawks' Week 6 bye. Unsurprisingly, Joeckel has been a liability on Russell Wilson's left side, though the options to replace him are even less appealing. Mark Glowinski is expected to get the first crack, though second-rounder Ethan Pocic is also a possibility. Coach Pete Carroll said both players could play in Week 7.

Chris Thompson is on pace to become just the fourth player in NFL history with 100 carries and 1,000 yards receiving.

Greatest Show on Turf-era Marshall Faulk is the most recent player to do so, accomplishing the feat in 1999. Thompson's 340 yards receiving are currently 21st in the league. He's had two 100-yard days through the air. Thompson's receiving pace will almost certainly recede below 1,000, but he should remain a huge part of the aerial attack for a team lacking a true No. 1, or arguably even No. 2, receiver.

Broncos released DT Ahtyba Rubin.

A 16-game starter for the Seahawks last season, Rubin had been active only twice for the Broncos, playing 13 snaps. Now 31, Rubin won't be a hot commodity on the open market, though his experience should get him workouts.

Raiders designated S Obi Melifonwu (knee surgery) as a return player from injured reserve.

Melifonwu can now resume practicing, and return to game action in Week 9. The No. 56 overall pick of April's draft, Melifonwu will slide in as the Raiders' No. 3 safety behind Karl Joseph and Reggie Nelson.

Michael Floyd played 38-of-77 snaps in Week 6, catching 1-of-3 targets for five yards.

It's essentially what Floyd did in his Week 5 return. It's disappointing since Stefon Diggs was sidelined with a groin injury. Floyd was out-snapped and out-targeted by Laquon Treadwell, though a tweaked calf likely played a part. Either way, 2017 fantasy value for Floyd isn't looking terribly likely.
