Miguel Tejada's first homer since July 16, 2011 was a three-run shot off the Astros' Dallas Keuchel on Monday.

Tejada has started just seven games this season, even though the Royals have gotten terrible production at third base, second base and first base. What's the harm in giving him an expanded role for a bit? For what it's worth, he's gone 9-for-27 with six RBI in his limited action.

Travis Hafner homered in the ninth and singled in a run in the 10th in the Yankees' 6-4 win over the Orioles on Monday.

These are games that Baltimore was winning last year. But, of course, the Yankees didn't have Hafner and Vernon Wells then. Hafner's homer off Jim Johnson tied the game in the ninth. Wells had an RBI double to give the Yankees the lead in the 10th, and Hafner went on to single him in for insurance. Hafner also stole a base, well, just because. He has two this year after going 2011 and 2012 without even attempting one.

CC Sabathia gave up four runs and 11 hits in 6 1/3 innings Monday versus the Orioles.

The 11 hits allowed is a new season high, topping the 10 he surrendered while facing the Mariners last week. With his velocity still down, Sabathia's margin for error isn't there anymore. He's still pretty good, but he's not going to be as consistent as usual, at least not unless he gets some MPH back.

Freddy Garcia yielded two runs and three hits in six innings Monday in a no-decision against the Yankees.

Garcia was in line for the win until Troy Patton and Jim Johnson gave up runs. Both runs Garcia allowed came on solo homers. He's now allowed six homers in four starts for the Orioles, which is why he's such a bad risk in AL-only leagues.
May 20 - 11:34 PM

Jim Johnson took his third straight blown save after giving up a solo homer to Travis Hafner in the ninth inning Monday.

That as many blown saves as Johnson suffered in 54 opportunities last year. He was also 14-for-14 this season before suddenly giving up eight runs and two homers in three appearances. Fortunately, he still has plenty of goodwill built up over the last year and a quarter; his closing gig should be safe.
May 20 - 11:32 PM

David Adams went 2-for-4 and hit his first major league homer Monday off the Orioles' Freddy Garcia.

Adams is 6-for-18 in five games since being called up Wednesday. It looks like he'll get the nod over Jayson Nix at third base until Kevin Youkilis returns. Nix will still play shortstop against left-handers.
May 20 - 11:30 PM

Chris Davis went 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk Monday against the Yankees.

Davis lost his share of the AL home run lead when Robinson Cano went deep in the first, only to move back into a tie by hitting his 13th homer an inning later. He has four homers in 10 games after slumping some in late April and early May.
May 20 - 11:28 PM

Shane Victorino (hamstring) is considered day-to-day.

Victorino left Monday's game against the White Sox with left hamstring tightness. It sounds like the move was mostly precautionary, but Red Sox manager John Farrell did say the club would be cautious with the outfielder. Expect him to miss at least a couple games.
