Rockies activated LHP Jorge De La Rosa from the 15-day disabled list.

De La Rosa will return to the Rockies' starting rotation Tuesday night at Fenway Park after missing the last four weeks with a strained left groin. The veteran southpaw had a 10.18 ERA and 2.07 WHIP over his first five appearances this season and makes for an awful fantasy streaming option against the dangerous Boston offense.

Rockies optioned RHP Jordan Lyles to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Lyles was lit up for six runs -- four earned -- over just 2 1/3 innings Monday in a loss to the Pirates, watching his season ERA rise to 8.55. It might be a while before the right-hander gets another look. Jorge De La Rosa (groin) was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding 25-man roster move.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said Justin Upton (quad) probably won't play Wednesday either.

Upton was a late scratch Monday and is being held out again Tuesday due to tightness in his right quad. Ausmus said the team is just trying to be cautious. Upton, signed to a six-year, $132.75 million free agent contract this winter, is batting just .223/.270/.319 with 66 strikeouts over his first 178 plate appearances for Detroit.

Orioles purchased the contract of LHP Ashur Tolliver from Double-A Bowie.

He will be taking over for lefty reliever Brian Matusz, who was traded to the Braves on Monday. Tolliver had a cool 2.42 ERA and 25/8 K/BB ratio through 26 innings this season at the Double-A level.

Byung-ho Park is out of the Twins' lineup Tuesday.

Park is in a 1-for-21 rut and will take a day of mental and physical rest with the Royals throwing right-hander Dillon Gee. Miguel Sano will DH and Oswaldo Arcia will start in right field versus Kansas City.
May 24 - 4:23 PM

White Sox released 1B Travis Ishikawa.

Ishikawa was batting .201/.277/.344 through 175 plate appearances this season at Triple-A Charlotte. The 32-year-old will try to latch on with a new organization.

Rougned Odor is batting leadoff in the Rangers' starting lineup Tuesday versus Anaheim.

Odor had an appeal hearing for his eight-game suspension on Tuesday afternoon, but the Rangers aren't expecting a ruling to come down before the start of Tuesday night's game against the visiting Angels. The second baseman was issued the suspension (and a fine) for his role in last Sunday's brawl with the Blue Jays. Odor got a clean shot to the face of Jose Bautista after Bautista slid hard into him at the second base bag.

Kevin Kiermaier underwent surgery Tuesday to repair two fractures in his left hand.

Kiermaier broke two metacarpal bones in his glove hand Saturday while trying to rob James McCann of a hit and is expected to be sidelined for the next 8-10 weeks. Mikie Mahtook started in center field on Monday night and Brandon Guyer drew the nod there Tuesday afternoon. Tampa Bay can feature a number of different looks, but Kiermaier is one of the best defenders in baseball at any position. It's a huge loss.
