Ivan Nova (elbow) threw in another extended spring training game on Tuesday.
Nova, who is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery, tossed three innings before rain forced him indoors to pitch two more innings. He's likely to begin a minor league rehab assignment in High-A next week, which puts him on pace for a return around the All-Star break.
Yasiel Puig (hamstring) is scheduled to take live batting practice Tuesday.
This comes one day after he tested his left hamstring by running at nearly 100 percent. Puig doesn't sound far off from going out on another minor league rehab assignment.
Paco Rodriguez underwent an MRI which showed no difference in his elbow from the time he was signed.
In other words, the Dodgers didn't find anything to be alarmed about. Rodriguez was placed on the disabled list over the weekend with a left elbow strain and will be shut down for a few days before resuming a throwing program. There's no clear timetable for his return.
Dodgers placed OF Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 31, with mid-back inflammation.
The issue has lingered for a few days and he'll now get some extended rest. Chris Heisey has replaced him on the active roster.
Dodgers recalled LHP Ian Thomas from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Thomas was just acquired from the Braves last week in the Juan Uribe deal and now he's up in the majors. The 28-year-old lefty will serve as the 26th man for Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
Dodgers recalled OF Chris Heisey from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Heisey was just sent down over the weekend, but he's back now that Scott Van Slyke is headed to the disabled list. The 30-year-old is 1-for-9 (.111) with five walks over five games with the Dodgers this season. He's starting in right field for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
Andre Ethier is out of the Dodgers' lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
The hot-hitting Ethier will take a seat with left-hander Jorge De La Rosa on the hill for the Rockies. The newly-recalled Chris Heisey will start in right field while Alex Guerrero plays left. Ethier should play in Game 2 of the doubleheader.
Jimmy Rollins is not in the Dodgers' starting lineup in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Rockies.
Enrique Hernandez will get the start at shortstop. Rollins figures to play in the second game.
