Nationals manager Dusty Baker confirmed Friday that Reynaldo Lopez will start on Saturday against the Giants.

Lucas Giolito was also considered for the start, but they'll go with the other rookie right-hander instead. He flashed his potential with nine strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in his major league debut, though he did allow six runs on 10 hits in that contest. He makes for a risky streaming option.

Jay Bruce - OF - Reds

Jayson Stark of ESPN reports that there may be a blockbuster three-team trade in the works between the Dodgers, Red and a mystery club that would send Jay Bruce to the Dodgers.

No team is linked to more rumors at this time of the year than the vaunted "mystery team", but it sounds as though the Dodgers are hellbent on acquiring the Reds' slugger. It's looking increasingly likely that Bruce will be wearing a new uniform in August.

Brett Anderson (back) is expected to make two more minor league rehab starts before rejoining the Dodgers.

Anderson will throw five innings in his next start and then seven frames the following outing. As long as he makes it through both of those starts without any issues, he'll be cleared to debut with the Dodgers in mid-August.

Jason Heyward clubbed a two-run homer on Friday as the Cubs routed the Mariners 12-1 in an afternoon matinee at Wrigley Field.

Heyward's two-run blast off Hisashi Iwakuma in the third inning increased their early lead to 5-0. It was his lone hit in four at-bats on the afternoon. He has had a rough go of it at the plate this season, slashing a mere .229/.316/.323 with five homers and 31 RBI.

John Lester was dominant in Friday's victory over the Mariners, racking up seven strikeouts over six shutout innings.

The veteran southpaw scattered four hits and a pair of walks on the afternoon. He has been tremendous for the Cubs this season, registering a 2.95 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 125/38 K/BB ratio over 128 1/3 innings while posting an 11-4 record. He'll look to replicate this fine outing when he does battle against the Marlins on Wednesday.

Shawn O'Malley went 2-for-5 and plated the Mariners lone run in Friday afternoon's loss to the Cubs.

O'Malley drew the start at shortstop and hit out of the leadoff spot for the M's against left-hander John Lester. His RBI single in the ninth inning to plate Leonys Martin put a band aid on a stab wound, cutting their deficit to 11-1. O'Malley also swiped his fourth base of the year in the contest.

Hisashi Iwakuma was throttled in a loss to the Cubs on Friday afternoon, giving up five runs on eight hits in just three innings of work.

Iwakuma walked one and struck out two in the ballgame. The Cubs jumped on him early in this one, scratching out three runs in the second inning and adding another pair in the third on a two-run blast from Jason Heyward. He'll carry a 4.21 ERA and 1.32 WHIP into Wednesday's start against the Red Sox.

Ryan Raburn was scratched from the Rockies starting lineup on Friday due to a left knee contusion.

He's listed as day-to-day. David Dahl will start in his place in left field and bat seventh for the Rockies on Friday against the Mets.
