A source tells Profootballtalk.com that a successful appeal for Josh Gordon's latest suspension is "unlikely at this point."

Gordon allegedly tested positive for alcohol, something he was presumably prohibited from consuming in connection with his laundry list of drug-related misdeeds. Per PFT's Mike Florio, Gordon's one-year ban is likely a "done deal." The Browns need wide receiver help. And a quarterback.

The Arizona Republic reports Dick LeBeau will not join the Cardinals' coaching staff.

LeBeau-to-Arizona seemed like a lock early this winter, but LeBeau's wife doesn't want to move away from Cincinnati. LeBeau may resurface in Tennessee, where he'd reunite with coaching disciple Ray Horton. Wherever LeBeau does land, it's expected to be in an overseer -- not coordinator -- role.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Josh Gordon has flunked yet another drug test and will be subject to a one-year suspension.

Details aren't yet known, but should trickle out within the next 48 hours. Gordon was suspended ten games to open the 2014 season for multiple failed drug tests. The Browns also suspended him for Week 17 following a violation of team rules. There were postseason rumors the Browns might try trading Gordon this offseason, but the latest ban effectively torpedoes his trade value. The Browns may outright release him shortly.

ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi expects the Browns to let Jordan Cameron walk in free agency.

Grossi previously predicted Gary Barnidge and Jim Dray would be Cleveland's starting tight ends to open the 2015 season. Cameron is a top-five talent at the tight end position, but the Browns appear poised to move on following an injury-riddled 2014 campaign. Cameron's free agent market will be fascinating to track. The 26-year-old is likely to come at a nice discount.

New Redskins GM Scot McCloughan is attempting to add Packers senior personnel executive Alonzo Highsmith to his front office.

Highsmith is a highly respected college scout who was originally hired by Ron Wolf in 1999. He was named the NFL Scout of the Year following the 2010 season. McCloughan, like Highsmith, has a background with Wolf. McCloughan is trying to turn Washington's front office from a mess into something formidable. Luring Highsmith to D.C. would be a big first step.

The Eagles are holding a second interview with Chris Polian regarding their general manager vacancy.

Bill's son had an abysmal and brief run as the Colts' GM before owner Jim Irsay cleaned house following the 2011 season. Chris spent the last two years in the Jaguars' organization. He would be an underwhelming hire for the Eagles, who are trying to replace Tom Gamble as Chip Kelly's top personnel man.

Broncos LT Ryan Clady is expected to be one of the main beneficiaries of new coach Gary Kubiak's offense.

Kubiak is a proponent of the zone-blocking system that excels with athletic linemen like Clady. It's the same system Clady played when the Broncos drafted him 12th overall in the 2008 draft. The Broncos have become more of a power offense with Peyton Manning under center. Kubiak will implement more ZBS concepts than ex-OC Adam Gase. Clady was PFF's 41st-ranked tackle in 2014.

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins have "privately indicated" they'd like to re-sign impending free agent TE Charles Clay.

This comes as no real surprise as Clay and DT Jared Odrick are Miami's top two free agents. Clay is coming off a down year where he fought through a season-long knee injury. It should help lower his price. Clay is one of the more versatile finesse tight ends in the league with the ability to line up in the backfield.
