Zack Cozart was removed from Friday's game against the Braves after being hit by a pitch.

Cozart appeared to be hit near his ankle. He was in pain and limping around after the game, but he indicated that he believes he was able to avoid any serious injury. The Reds are likely to give him an extra day of rest of Saturday, but it doesn't appear as though this will turn into a stint on the disabled list.

Carlos Martinez yielded three runs in seven innings to earn a win against the Pirates on Friday.

He wasn't on top of his game but got the job done in the quality start. He was taken deep by Josh Harrison and David Freese but both were solo shots that didn't sink his battleship. Martinez struck out four batters and walked one while surrendering six base hits. His record improves to 10-9 with a desirable 3.57 ERA and 1.19 WHIP after 25 starts. He's notched 169 strikeouts in 161 1/3 innings.

Josh Bell went 1-for-4 and drove in a pair of runs in Friday's loss to the Cardinals.

He smacked an RBI double in the Pirates' five-run eighth inning, and then plated another run by working a bases-loaded walk in the ninth. The big first baseman has broken out in the power department in his second season. He hit three homers in 45 games last year and is up to 20 bombs in 120 games in 2017. He has a .260 batting average with 68 RBI.

Manny Machado capped off an absolutely epic night at the plate on Friday with a walk-off grand slam, propelling the Orioles to a 9-7 victory over the Angels.

Machado crushed a two-run homer off of Angels' starter Andrew Heaney in the third inning, pulling the O's to within a run at 5-4. He then victimized Heaney again for a solo shot in the fifth. He saved the best for last though, blasting a walk-off grand slam off of Keynan Middleton in the ninth, finishing the night 3-for-5 with seven RBI. Machado's poor luck from earlier in the season has started to even out and he's now slashing .264/.319/.494 with 26 homers and 81 RBI.

David Freese hit a solo homer and drove in two runs in Friday's loss to the Cardinals.

The former Cardinals World Series hero drilled a solo bomb off starter Carlos Martinez in the second inning then plated another run with a sacrifice fly as the Pirates' rally fell short in the ninth inning. The veteran third baseman is having a fairly bland fantasy season, sporting a .264 batting average with nine homers and 43 RBI in 384 plate appearances.

Mark Trumbo blasted his 19th long ball of the season as the Orioles rallied to defeat the Angels on Friday.

Trumbo got the O's on the board with his solo shot off of Andrew Heaney in the second inning, starting the process of chipping away at a five-run deficit. It wound up being his only hit in four at-bats on the evening. The 31-year-old slugger is hitting .240/.301/.415 with 19 homers and 53 RBI.

Caleb Joseph hit one of five Orioles' home runs in Friday's victory over the Angels.

Joseph tagged Angels' starter Andrew Heaney for a solo shot in the third inning. He finished the night 1-for-4. Joseph has done a terrific job in a reserve role for the O's this year, slashing .281/.314/.462 with eight home runs and 26 RBI.

Trevor Williams took a beating to the tune of eight runs in three innings during a loss to the Cardinals on Friday.

He gave up seven hits and three of them left the yard. He served up a solo shot to Tommy Pham, a three-run jack to Matt Carpenter and a solo tater to Paul DeJong. His ERA jumps from 4.19 to 4.71 in 114 2/3 innings. The rookie started the season in the bullpen before moving into the rotation in early May. He's been mostly solid before today.
