Dodgers manager Don Mattingly is hopeful that Yasiel Puig (hamstring) will be ready to return to the lineup on Tuesday.

Puig returned to action Saturday after missing a few days with a hamstring issue, but he's sitting out Sunday with more soreness. It doesn't appear to be a major concern at this point, but we'll have to wait and see how he feels after the off day. Andre Ethier will see more playing time while Puig is out.

Devon Travis left Sunday's game versus the Braves after being hit in the left side by a pitch.

The initial diagnosis is a left rib contusion, although he seems like to be sent for X-rays. Travis stayed in the game initially but appeared to aggravated the injury on a dive back into first base on a pickoff attempt. The second baseman looked to be in quite a bit of pain as he exited the field.

Cubs transferred RHP Jacob Turner from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Gonzalez Germen. Turner is expected to miss the first couple months of the season with a mild right flexor strain and bone bruise in his right elbow.
Apr 19 - 1:26 PM

Cubs purchased the contract of RHP Gonzalez Germen from Triple-A Iowa.

Germen had been unscored upon in his first four appearances at Iowa. He'll give the Cubs' taxed bullpen another arm.
Apr 19 - 1:24 PM

Cubs optioned OF Matt Szczur to Triple-A Iowa.

Szczur's playing time has been limited, as he's picked up two hits in just 10 at-bats. The Cubs are adding another relief arm in Gonzalez German in his place.

Jake Lamb is not in the Diamondbacks' lineup Sunday.

He's on the bench in favor of Aaron Hill even with the D'Backs facing a righty (Tim Hudson). Lamb is hitting a blistering .414/.514/.690 with one homer and nine RBI this season. Tuffy Gosewisch is also sitting out, with Jordan Pacheco getting a start behind the plate.

Twins general manager Terry Ryan said in a radio interview Sunday that Ricky Nolasco (elbow) has been cleared to begin a rehab assignment.

He was given the go-ahead after getting through a bullpen session Sunday with no issues. His pitch count on Saturday at Low-A Cedar Rapids is expected to be around 75, so Nolasco seems likely to need a couple rehab starts. Trevor May is likely to be booted from the rotation when Nolasco is ready.
Apr 19 - 1:16 PM

Brad Miller is not in the Mariners' lineup Sunday.

It's simply a day of rest. Willie Bloomquist is taking Miller's spot at shortstop Sunday, while Mike Zunino is getting a breather behind the plate in favor of Jesus Sucre.
