Pirates optioned RHP Nick Kingham to Triple-A Indianapolis.

Kingham had another solid outing Saturday against the Padres, allowing three runs while striking out five over six innings, but it wasn't enough to keep him around. He should get another shot eventually, but with Joe Musgrove (shoulder) set to return this week Kingham will go back into Indy's rotation.

Pirates activated 2B Josh Harrison from the 10-day disabled list.

Harrison missed five weeks of action with a fractured fifth metacarpal in his left hand. He'll return to a .263/.328/.351 batting line and will go back to being the Pirates' everyday second baseman and leadoff hitter.

Nationals optioned RHP Jefry Rodriguez to Double-A Harrisburg.

Rodriguez was up as the 26th man during Saturday's doubleheader but didn't make an appearance. He'll rejoin Harrisburg's rotation.

Nationals designated OF Moises Sierra for assignment.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Juan Soto. Sierra has hit just .167/.217/.204 over 27 games for the Nats this season.

Nationals purchased the contract of OF Juan Soto from Double-A Harrisburg.

It's a bold move, as Soto will be the youngest player in the majors at 19 and has just 512 plate appearances as a pro, with nearly all of them coming in the lower minors. However, there's no doubting his talent, and he's posted a ridiculous .362/.462/.757 batting line with 14 home runs and 52 RBI across 39 games over his three stops this season. Soto will be the Nats' regular left fielder with Adam Eaton (ankle) slated to be out a while longer.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said Sunday that Johan Camargo will be the team's everyday third baseman following the release of Jose Bautista.

Camargo hasn't hit much this year after a nice rookie season, although he has picked it up lately in reaching base seven times over his last four games. There's not much upside here for fantasy purposes, but Camargo's multi-position eligibility could make him useful in deeper leagues. Top prospect Austin Riley is just a step away at Triple-A Gwinnett and could get a shot if Camargo scuffles.

Braves released 3B/OF Jose Bautista.

It's an experiment that just never worked out, as Bautista unsurprisingly struggled defensively at third base and didn't do nearly enough with the bat (.143/.250/.343) to make up for it. Johan Camargo will take over as the everyday third baseman for the Braves. This could be the end of the line for the 37-year-old Bautista.

Matt Duffy (hamstring) didn't get a hit but walked twice in his return to action Saturday.

Duffy hadn't played since Tuesday because of a tight right hamstring. Hamstring ailments can often be aggravated, so we'll see if it's truly behind him.
