Dodgers shortstop prospect Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with a double for Double-A Chattanooga on Monday.

Seager went 1-for-6 with four strikeouts in his Double-A debut, but has gone 3-for-10 in his first two games in the Southern League. For the season, he hit .352/.411/.633 with 34 doubles, two triples, and 18 home runs over 80 games with High-A Rancho Cucamonga. Seager is likely to finish the season in Double-A, and could reach the major leagues no earlier than late-2015.

Angels first base prospect C.J. Cron went 2-for-4 with a walk in his return to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.

Cron hit .269/.297/.480 during his time in the majors, but just .233/.258/.383 over his last 15 games. It appears that the Angels are trying to keep an extra reliever on their roster, and Cron could be back up in the next few weeks, and no later than September 1.

Braves second base prospect Jose Peraza went 3-for-4 with a walk and three stolen bases for Double-A Mississippi on Monday.

Peraza has back-to-back three hit games, and has hit .368/.395/.474 over his first 26 games in the Southern League. The Braves opened the season hoping for a bounceback year from Dan Uggla. They now have Tommy La Stella manning the keystone, with Jose Peraza waiting in the wings.

Esmil Rogers is expected to be called up from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.

Rogers was outrighted off the 40-man roster back in May, but the Blue Jays need a fresh arm in their bullpen. The 28-year-old owns a 6.97 ERA over 16 appearances at the major league level this season and figures to pitch in long relief.

According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN, Pirates right-hander A.J. Burnett can be traded to the Orioles, Red Sox, Red Sox, Reds, Royals, Mets, Yankees, Pirates, Cardinals, and Nationals without his consent.

Similar to teammate Cliff Lee, Burnett has a 20-team no-trade list. The Pirates and Orioles are two of the teams who have been scouting Burnett recently and the trade list won't be an issue.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Yankees have checked in with the White Sox about the availability of left-hander John Danks.

There's nothing to indicate that the two sides are close to a deal, but Yankees general manager Brian Cashman hasn't made any secret about his desire to add starting pitching. Danks owns a 4.35 ERA and 87/46 K/BB ratio over 124 innings this season, so he's not quite the pitcher he once was. There's still around $34 million remaining on his contract, which runs through 2016. He has a six-team no-trade list, but it's unclear if the Yankees are on it.

Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports that Marlins' relievers Steve Cishek and Mike Dunn are being closely watched by scouts.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has reported that Cishek has been a popular name in recent trade talks, but it's unclear whether the Marlins are willing to move him. However, he's making $3.8 million in his first year of arbitration and won't qualify for free agency until after 2017, so he could fetch a big return. The Marlins would like to add a controllable starting pitcher and/or a second baseman, which would be reasonable requests in a Cishek deal. Dunn making $1.4 million in his first year of arbitration and is under team control through 2016.

Joel Peralta (virus) is expected to be placed on the disabled list.

Peralta believes that he acquired the chikungunya virus, an illness transferred by mosquitoes in the Caribbean, which is where Peralta spent his All-Star break. He would be placed on the disabled list retroactive to July 13, setting him up to return within a few days assuming he feels up to it. Jeff Beliveau is the most likely replacement on the active roster.
