Mariners manager Scott Servais said he doesn't expect Dee Gordon (toe) to be out much longer than 10 days.

Gordon was placed on the disabled list Tuesday afternoon after being diagnosed with a fracture in his right big toe, but it's a minor fracture and so this won't be too long of an absence. That's great news, as the 30-year-old speedster has batted .304 with 16 stolen bases and 25 runs scored in 45 games this season for Seattle. He recently moved back to second base (from center field) following the announcement of Robinson Cano's 80-game drug suspension.

Rich Hill (blister) threw a 31-pitch bullpen session Tuesday with a band-aid on his left middle finger.

"It’s healing pretty well now," he said of his latest blister. Hill is not allowed to pitch with that band-aid on his hand in MLB games, so it'll probably be at least another three weeks before he returns to the Dodgers' rotation. Brock Stewart is starting in his place Tuesday night against the Rockies.

Jose Bautista is starting in left field and batting fifth for the Mets on Tuesday night against the Marlins.

Bautista caught a flight to New York this afternoon and officially signed his one-year major league contract with the Mets upon his arrival at Citi Field. The 37-year-old hit two home runs in 12 games with the Braves before they released him on Sunday, but he also had a poor .143/.250/.343 overall batting line. This version of Joey Bats is not worth consideration in standard mixed fantasy leagues.

Angels released INF/OF Ryan Schimpf.

Schimpf was batting just .178/.288/.355 over 125 plate appearances this season at the Triple-A level. The 30-year-old will try to latch on with a new organization.

Erick Fedde will make a spot start for the Nationals on Wednesday against the Padres.

Fedde holds a somewhat underwhelming 4.35 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 42/13 K/BB ratio in 41 1/3 innings (eight starts) this season at Triple-A, but the former top-100 prospect could have some fantasy streaming appeal against the lowly Friars. This will be his appearance at the MLB level in 2018. He had a 9.39 ERA in 15 1/3 innings with Washington last year.

Nationals signed OF Jaff Decker to a minor league contract.

Decker had posted good numbers this season with the Triple-A affiliate of the Braves, but the 28-year-old outfielder owns a brutal .174/.274/.236 career batting line over parts of five seasons at the MLB level. He'll report to the Nationals' Triple-A team in Syracuse.

Dodgers optioned SHP Pat Venditte to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The 32-year-old switch-pitcher allowed two runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings out of the Dodgers' bullpen.

Dodgers recalled RHP Brock Stewart from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Stewart is starting for the Dodgers on Tuesday night against the Rockies and could get a few more turns with Rich Hill nursing another blister. Stewart has posted a 2.08 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 21 2/3 innings (five starts) this season at Triple-A and a 3.18 ERA in 5 2/3 innings of relief at the MLB level. The 26-year-old right-hander has some fantasy streaming appeal.
