Enrique Hernandez hit a three-run home run in one of his four at-bats against the Giants on Sunday.

His eighth-inning three-run blast brought the Dodgers to within one run at 9-8 in the eighth inning against George Kontos. Hernandez is not particularly known for his home run potential, but has five so far this spring along but he's only hitting .250 (13-for-52). Hernandez's versatility could be the deciding factor if he ends up on the Dodgers' 25-man roster.

Joc Pederson hit his sixth Cactus League home run on Sunday, finishing 2-for-3 against the Giants.

Pederson reduced the Dodgers' deficit to 3-2 with a third-inning solo home run to right field off of Matt Cain. If not for Kris Bryant, Pederson would likely be the toast of baseball so far this spring as he prepares to take over center field for the Dodgers. Along with the six spring blasts, Pederson is hitting .389 (21-for-54) with 12 RBI and a pair of stolen bases.
Mar 29 - 7:57 PM

Joe Panik went 3-for-3 with a walk, a pair of doubles, and three runs scored on Sunday versus the Dodgers.

Panik appeared to be heating up, but went hitless in three consecutive games entering Sunday afternoon. His performance against the Dodgers is, hopefully for the Giants, a good sign. He picked his spring average up to .200 (11-for-55). Panik impressed in his rookie campaign, batting .305 in 287 plate appearances last season.
Mar 29 - 7:55 PM

A.J. Pollock went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a stolen base, and a run scored as the Diamondbacks fell 11-10 in 10 innings to the Rockies on Sunday.

Pollock put the D'Backs on the board in the third inning with an RBI fielder's choice ground out, which was the start of a six-run outburst. Pollock is batting a hot .373 (22-for-59) with four stolen bases this spring. If he can stay healthy, Pollock should bring mixed league value this season.
Mar 29 - 7:52 PM

Jake Lamb went 3-for-4 with three singles, an RBI, and a run scored in Sunday's Cactus League slugfest against the Rockies.

The two teams combined for 21 runs and 29 hits. Strangely, Lamb's three hits didn't factor too much into the final equation. Lamb is now hitting .333 (18-for-54) as he attempts to reclaim some playing time at third base from teammate Yasmany Tomas. The Diamondbacks have expressed an interest in having Tomas split time between third base and the outfield.
Mar 29 - 7:48 PM

Christian Bergman was hit around by the Diamondbacks on Sunday, serving up six runs in three innings of work.

Bergman gave up eight hits and a walk with no strikeouts in a disastrous performance. His spring ERA rises to 5.52 from 2.31 in the small sample of 14 2/3 innings. Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post still expects Bergman to get the fifth spot in the Rockies' rotation to begin the regular season, but could lose it once Jorge De La Rosa is healthy enough to return.
Mar 29 - 7:45 PM

Matt McBride singled and clubbed a pair of two-run home runs in four at-bats Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

McBride's first homer put the Rockies up 2-0 in the first inning against Aaron Blair. His second broke a 6-6 tie in the fourth inning against Vidal Nuno. McBride also homered on Saturday, now sitting with four on the spring along with a .298 average (14-for-47). There isn't any room for him on the Rockies' roster, but he should get immediate consideration for a mid-season call-up in the event of an injury.
Mar 29 - 7:42 PM

Mitch Moreland hit a solo home run on Sunday, his only success in four at-bats in a 10-5 loss to the Dodgers.

Moreland went yard off of J.P. Howell in the eighth inning. It was nice to see that it was against a left-hander, as he owns a career OPS 141 points lower against lefties than against righties. Moreland, who has three Cactus League homers, should get the lion's share of the at-bats from the DH spot this season.
