Nick Ahmed left Tuesday's game against the Pirates after taking a pitch off his face.

Pirates reliever Arquimedes Caminero caught Ahmed in the jaw, an inning after striking Jean Segura in the side of the batting helmet. The pitches didn't look intentional -- just incredibly wild -- but Caminero was ejected anyway and both benches were warned. Ahmed will presumably be tested for both facial fractures and a concussion.

Francisco Rodriguez allowed a run but hung on to record career save No. 400 in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.

K-Rod got into hot water right off the bat by allowing a double to Freddy Galvis and single to Maikel Franco, but he retired the next three batters, giving up just the one run on a sac fly. The reliever becomes the sixth ever to reach the 400-save plateau, and he's the active leader in the category.

Colby Rasmus was ejected from Tuesday's game against the Orioles for arguing a called third strike.

Rasmus took issue with Dana DeMuth's strike zone in the bottom of the sixth and apparently uttered one of the magic words. Jake Marisnick took over in center field. Rasmus finished the evening 0-for-3.

Troy Tulowitzki left Tuesday's game against the Yankees with tightness in his right quad.

Tulowitzki was 1-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base before exiting. He may have injured the quad on that swipe in the top of the seventh. Ryan Goins moved to shortstop and catcher Russell Martin took over at second base to close out the 6-0 loss. Tulo will be reevaluated by the Blue Jays training staff on Wednesday.

Jeremy Hellickson struck out seven and allowed three runs over seven innings in Tuesday's loss to the Tigers.

The Tigers struck with a run in the first, but Hellickson settled in for a while before coughing up a couple more tallies in the sixth. It was a good showing in what was a tough matchup, but he was easily out-distanced by Justin Verlander. The Phillies' righty will carry a 3.97 ERA into next week's start versus the Nationals.

Alex Rodriguez finished 2-for-4 in his first rehab game Tuesday with Double-A Trenton.

It could also be his final rehab game, with rumors swirling that the Yankees might activate him Wednesday. A-Rod hit an RBI single up the middle in the third inning and singled to load the bases in the seventh. Trenton pulled him in the ninth with the game tied 2-2. Rodriguez has been on the disabled list since May 4 because of a strained right hamstring.

Cameron Maybin went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.

Maybin got moved up to the leadoff spot with Ian Kinsler scratched and he kept hitting, singling and scoring in the first and sixth innings. The center fielder will surely move back down in the order when Kinsler is ready, but with the way he's going he can help fantasy owners no matter where he hits. Maybin has 16 base knocks in his first 28 at-bats of the season.

Jean Segura left Tuesday's game against the Pirates after taking a pitch off his helmet.

Pirates reliever Arquimedes Caminero, one of the hardest throwers in the majors, struck Segura with a 96 mph fastball in the top of the seventh inning. Segura was eventually able to walk off the field on his own, but this is an obvious concussion-watch situation. There should be an update from the Diamondbacks after the game.
