Stuart Turner went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple in Saturday's split-squad Cactus League showdown with the A's.

While not the most fleet a-foot on the basepaths, Turner has now picked up a pair of triples during spring action. The Reds selected him from the Twins with the No. 17 pick in this winter's Rule 5 draft. Given his struggles in the minors last season (.239/.322/.363 in 370 plate appearances at Double-A in the Twins' system) he is unlikely to land a spot on the Opening Day roster.

Hector Santiago scattered four hits and two runs over four innings Saturday in the Twins’ Grapefruit League loss to the Orioles.

He racked up four strikeouts and only walked one. Santiago struggled with the long ball on Saturday, serving up solo blasts to J.J. Hardy and Jonathan Schoop. The left-hander now holds an 8.22 ERA over three Grapefruit League outings. He also appeared in three games for Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic.

J.J. Hardy clobbered a solo home run Saturday in the Orioles’ Grapefruit League win over the Twins.

He struck out in his other two at-bats. The home run was Hardy’s first of spring training. The veteran missed time with back trouble earlier this month but returned to the lineup a couple weeks ago. Hardy has eclipsed 20 homers five times in his career but hasn’t reached that threshold since 2013. He's only an option in AL-only leagues.

Rajai Davis went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and three runs scored in Saturday's split-squad Cactus League affair with the Reds.

Davis socked a two-run home run off Amir Garrett in the third inning. That was his first homer of the spring. The veteran outfielder is not much of a power threat on the whole -- his 12 dingers a year ago were the most he has hit in a season -- but offers a strong speed aspect for fantasy owners, having swiped at least 35 bases in four of the last five seasons. He stole 43 during the 2016 season.

Gabriel Ynoa limited the Twins to one hit over five shutout frames Saturday in the Orioles’ Grapefruit League victory.

He walked one and struck out three. The one hit came on a double by Ben Paulsen with two outs in the first inning. Ynoa was lights out after that, setting down eight hitters in a row before yielding a walk to Paulsen in the fourth. Saturday’s gem lowered Ynoa’s spring ERA from 3.12 to 1.98. The 23-year-old will likely start the year at Triple-A Norfolk but should see time in Baltimore later on.
Mar 25 - 8:55 PM

Sean Manaea struggled mightily in Saturday's split-squad Cactus League game against the Reds, allowing six runs (five earned) on five hits over three innings.

All six of those runs came home to roost in the second inning. Manaea walked five and struck out just one in the disappointing spring showing. These results will not budge him out of the rotation, though, as he posted a solid 3.86 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 124/37 K/BB ratio across 144 2/3 frames during the 2016 campaign.
Mar 25 - 8:51 PM

Amir Garrett struggled mightily in Saturday's split-squad Cactus League showdown with the A's, yielding six runs on seven hits over five innings.

Garrett walked three and struck out four in this mess of an outing. The A's played water torture with him throughout, posting solitary runs in the first, third and fourth innings before busting out for three runs in the fifth. This won't help his cause as he tries to secure a rotation spot with the big league club, but he pitched well between Double- and Triple-A last season, when he recorded a 2.55 ERA with a 132/59 K/BB ratio in 144 2/3 frames. Should the 24-year-old southpaw open the season in the minors, he could see a call-up when the Reds need an extra arm down the road.
Mar 25 - 8:46 PM

Kris Bryant went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a double in Saturday's split-squad Cactus League win over the Reds.

Spring results matter naught for the reigning NL MVP, but for history's sake, his two-run home run on Saturday was his fourth of the spring, the double his second. The stud third baseman is coming off a 2016 season in which he slashed .292/.385/.554 with 39 homers and 102 RBI over the course of 603 at-bats.
