Dylan Covey did not allow a run over 3 2/3 innings in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Indians.

Covey scattered three hits on the afternoon, striking out three and walking one along the way. The White Sox scooped him up with a Rule 5 pick in December. A strained oblique cost the 25-year-old right-hander the bulk of the 2016 campaign, but in six starts prior to sustaining that injury, he held a 1.84 ERA with Double-A Midland. If he is unable to crack the Opening Day roster as a long arm, he will start the upcoming season in the minors.

Salvador Perez went 1-for-3 with a single in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Brewers.

The Royals failed to pick up an extra-base hit in this one, at least until Raul Mondesi ended it all with a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth. Perez's single was one of just five total hits they managed against Milwaukee pitching. While the backstop suffered a hyperextended elbow during the World Baseball Classic, the minor injury should not have an impact on his Opening Day status. For fantasy purposes, Perez offers a dependable bat at a thin position.

Domingo Santana went 1-for-3 with a double in Saturday's Cactus League game against the Royals.

The double was Santana's second of the spring. He has also bopped three homers in 48 at-bats. This past season, he managed a .256 average to pair with 11 homers and 32 RBI across 246 at-bats. He is a palatable sleeper in deeper fantasy formats.

Ian Kennedy pitched well in Saturday's Cactus League showdown with the Brewers, fanning seven over six scoreless innings.

A nice, crisp tune-up start for Kennedy, who allowed all of three hits on the afternoon. Countering the seven strikeouts, he walked two. Kennedy has yet to allow a run over his 17 1/3 innings of spring action. The veteran right-hander is set to follow Danny Duffy in the Opening Day rotation.
Mar 25 - 6:53 PM

Wily Peralta kept the Royals off the scoreboard in Saturday's Cactus League contest, scattering three hits over 5 2/3 frames.

Peralta struck out three and walked two over his 5 2/3 innings of work. This past season, the 27-year-old right-hander posted a 4.86 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 93/43 K/BB ratio over the course of 23 starts. While there's some promise in Peralta's arm, he has not put that promise to work at the major league level, at least not very often, posting ERA's north of 4.35 in three of the last four seasons.

Tyler Collins went 1-for-3 and drilled a three-run bomb in a loss to the Pirates on Saturday.

This was his second game back in action after missing time with a strained lat muscle that has bothered him throughout camp. He is batting just .220 with two homers in 41 at-bats. Collins has a very shaky hold on the starting centerfield job in Detroit. The 26-year-old has seen limited major league action over the last three seasons, holding a career line of .253/.309/.401 with nine home runs and 44 RBI in 134 games.
Mar 25 - 6:52 PM

Taylor Motter went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's Cactus League contest against the Rangers.

Motter's homer off Eddie Gamboa in the sixth inning was the second he has hit since the start of spring action. In an even 50 at-bats, he is hitting .280. Motter saw 93 plate appearances with the Rays in 2016, but struggled in that space, slashing just .188/.290/.300.
Mar 25 - 6:51 PM

Ryan Rua went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Saturday's Cactus League loss to the Mariners.

Rua burned Dillon Overton for the solo shot with two outs in the first inning. The dinger was his third of the spring. He will likely land on the Rangers' Opening Day bench. Over the course of 99 games during the 2016 campaign, he posted a .268/.331/.400 triple-slash, eight home runs and nine steals. He offers tons of position versatility.
