Tigers acquired LHP Chad Bell from the Rangers for C Bobby Wilson.
The 27-year-old Bell had a 4.58 ERA and 118/42 K/BB ratio in 141 1/3 innings at the Double-A level last season. He has pitched well in Triple-A this season between the rotation and the bullpen, but he's mostly organizational depth.

The Rangers already acquired Bryan Holaday from the Tigers back in March and now they have added another catcher to the mix as they try to get by without Robinson Chirinos. The 33-year-old Wilson is a .203/.266/.299 hitter in the majors and can be ignored in fantasy leagues.

Red Sox manager John Farrell said on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM that Pablo Sandoval's left shoulder was scheduled for Tuesday morning.
The Red Sox haven't released any specifics, but Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports hears that the procedure included a repair of a labrum tear and cleanup of his rotator cuff. The expectation is that he'll the entire 2016 season. Sandoval is still owed $53 million from 2017-2019 with $17 million club option or a $5 million buyout for 2020.
Red Sox activated RHP Carson Smith from the 15-day disabled list.
Smith, who began the season on the disabled list with a strained flexor tendon, was cleared to join the Red Sox after making it through two minor league rehab games. The 26-year-old was acquired from the Mariners over the winter and is capable of being a dominant set-up man if healthy.
Ryan Kalish could be called up from Triple-A Iowa if Matt Szczur (hamstring) needs to be placed on the 15-day disabled list.
Szczur left Monday's game with hamstring tightness and was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday. Kalish, 28, hasn't appeared in the majors since 2014. He's batting .368/.471/.509 through 20 games in Triple-A this season.
According to MLB Trade Rumors, Dale Thayer has opted out of his minor league contract with the Dodgers.
Thayer latched on with the Dodgers after spring training and had a 6.75 ERA with 10 strikeouts and two walks over eight innings. The 35-year-old will look for an opportunity elsewhere.
Mitch Harris (elbow) has been cleared to resume a throwing program.
Harris got the go-ahead after a checkup with Dr. George Paletta on Monday. The 30-year-old was forced to begin the season on the disabled list with compression syndrome, which is a nerve issue in his right elbow.
