49ers LCB Tramaine Brock (toe) will miss Week 5.

Brock is still nursing a sprained big toe on his right foot. Perrish Cox will continue to start opposite Chris Culliver, with rookie Jimmie Ward in the slot.
Oct 1 - 8:53 PM

A source told the Boston Globe that Aaron Dobson was deactivated in Weeks 3 and 4 because he "mouthed off" to Patriots OC Josh McDaniels.

"Mouthing off" to Belichick wannabe McDaniels apparently costs you two full games, despite the Patriots' glaring needs at perimeter wide receiver. 23 years old, big, and fast, Dobson would give New England an offensive element it sorely lacks, but it sounds like McDaniels is putting his ego before the team. Dobson's status going forward is unclear. He's just a WR5 stash in 12-team leagues.
Oct 1 - 8:46 PM

David Nelson is expected to miss Week 5 with a "severe low ankle sprain."

The Jets will turn to a three-receiver set of Eric Decker, Jeremy Kerley, and Greg Salas. Nelson never had fantasy football value in the first place.
Oct 1 - 8:09 PM

Malcom Floyd missed Chargers practice Wednesday with an illness.

There are no indications the illness is a Week 5 concern, although we'll update Floyd's status on Thursday. The Chargers are preparing to host the Jets.
Oct 1 - 8:07 PM

Chargers RE Corey Liuget suffered a concussion in Sunday's win over Jacksonville.

He did practice on a limited basis Wednesday, which suggests Liuget has already passed the first few steps of the NFL's protocol concussion testing. The Chargers play the Jets next. Liuget is on pace for 60 tackles and six sacks.
Oct 1 - 8:02 PM

Donnie Avery (groin) did not practice Wednesday.

Avery is likely dealing with a multi-week injury. He should be considered doubtful for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Oct 1 - 7:42 PM

Jake Locker (wrist) expects to play Sunday against the Browns.

Locker returned to practice Wednesday and was throwing with "no issues." Barring a setback, he should return after missing last week's start against the Colts. Locker will be just a low-end QB2 option.
Oct 1 - 7:38 PM

Joseph Fauria (ankle) did not practice Wednesday.

He remains week to week. Rookie Eric Ebron is coming off a breakout 3/34/1 line against the Jets and will continue to have an expanded role.
