Jaguars waived TE Ben Koyack.

A seventh-round pick out of Notre Dame, Koyack made no noise during his roughly-four months on the roster. He might be a practice squad candidate.
Sep 4 - 5:18 PM

Jaguars waived RB Storm Johnson.

The No. 222 overall pick of last year's draft, made one start and notched 29 carries as a rookie, but averaged just 3.0 yards per tote. He's pretty much the definition of a replacement-level back. He could be headed to the practice squad. The Jaguars have also waived CB Jeremy Harris, TE Ben Koyack, WR Neal Sterling, DE Cap Capi, DT Richard Ash, DE Camaron Beard, WR Kasey Closs, OG Will Corbin, TE Connor Hamlett, DE Ike Igbinosun, WR Erik Lora, OG Chris Reed, CB Rashaad Reynolds, LB Todd Thomas, CB Peyton Thompson and WR Tony Washington.

The Washington Post doesn’t consider DeAngelo Hall’s roster spot in jeopardy.

There was speculation over Hall’s status after playing in the preseason finale, but he’s expected to be one of the Redskins’ top three corners. Hall could start Week 1 opposite Chris Culliver, with David Amerson or Justin Rogers playing in nickel.
Sep 4 - 5:14 PM

Chris Hogan (knee, ankle) expects to be ready for Week 1.

Hogan will be three weeks into his 2-4 week timetable for the start of the regular season. The Bills are expected to keep him despite his nondescript training camp. Hogan will back up the slot if cleared.
Sep 4 - 4:56 PM

Redskins waived C Austin Reiter.

Reiter was the No. 222 overall pick of May's draft. A top-shelf athlete, he'll presumably be headed to the practice squad.
Sep 4 - 4:48 PM

LeSean McCoy (hamstring) has vowed to be ready for Week 1.

McCoy made the proclamation in a text message to ESPN's Josina Anderson. He was more diplomatic following Friday's practice, saying "we'll see." Coach Rex Ryan has generally suggested McCoy will be ready to go against the Colts. Our first concrete clue will come with the Bills' first official injury report on Wednesday.

Coach Chuck Pagano didn't rule out OLB Robert Mathis (Achilles) playing Week 1.

Mathis hasn’t had any setbacks since getting activated off active/PUP in late August. He’s highly questionable for the opener, but remains on track for an early-season return.
Sep 4 - 4:41 PM

Dolphins released QB Josh Freeman.

Freeman was previously released in July before being re-signed four days later. The former first-rounder's downward spiral continued unabated this summer, as he completed just 23-of-48 preseason passes (47.9 percent). It's been a bizarre career for the now 27-year-old quarterback. Freeman might not get another chance.
