A.J. Pollock (groin, quad) will play his next rehab game with Triple-A Reno on Tuesday.

Pollock recently took a break from his rehab stint after tweaking his quad a week ago, but he played four innings and took three at-bats on Sunday. Barring any further setbacks, he's likely a few days away from rejoining the Diamondbacks.

Rangers prospect Yohander Mendez gave up three runs in five innings of work on Sunday for Double-A Frisco.

Mendez also walked four, but he was able to strike out seven. The left-hander is no longer the consensus top pitching prospect in the system, but he does have two pitches that can miss bats in a fastball that touches 95 and a quality change. He also has shown plus command before, but that hasn't been apparent in 2017. He should be a member of someone's rotation by this point in 2018.

According to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com, if the Rays assume all of Adeiny Hechavarria's salary in a trade, they'd like the Marlins to include "a nice, cheap power arm."

Crasnick mentions Kyle Barraclough as a potential fit, though it's unclear whether the two sides have discussed him. That sounds pretty extreme for the Marlins to give him up just to part with the remainder of Hechavarria's $4.35 million salary for this season. Either way, if the Marlins want teams to pick up his salary, they aren't going to get much in return. Crasnick reports that talks between the Marlins and Rays are "about to come to a head" while Bob Nightengale of USA Today hears that the two sides are optimistic they'll complete a deal Monday.

Dodgers prospect Willie Calhoun went 2-for-4 with a homer on Sunday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The homer gives Calhoun 16 on the season. If it wasn't for defensive concerns, you'd likely already see him in a Dodger uniform; both the hit and power tools are plus, and there's very little he needs to work on at this point. Unfortunately, those defensive issues are there, so it's not likely you see him up in Los Angeles until rosters expand. Still, the offensive potential is so good that he's a must-have in dynasty leagues, and worth keeping an eye on in re-drafts.

Cardinals prospect Jack Flaherty gave up eight hits and five runs on Sunday for Triple-A Memphis.

Flaherty also walked three and struck out five. It's one of the worst starts of the year for Flaherty, who has been outstanding for most of the 2017 campaign. He's still striking out over a batter an inning, but the command hasn't been quite as good since his promotion to Memphis. The Cardinals appear to have no shot at the postseason, so Flaherty and a few other arms should get a chance to pitch down the stretch. Of those arms, Flaherty has the highest floor, and maybe the highest upside.

Randal Grichuk will bat second Monday against the Reds.

This comes after he slugged a long home run out of the cleanup spot in his return to the majors on Sunday. Grichuk should see semi-regular playing time with Dexter Fowler sidelined. While he's a batting average risk, the power makes him worth a look in mixed leagues again.
Jun 26 - 1:17 PM

Matt Carpenter is not in Monday's lineup against the Reds.

He'll get a routine day of rest. Recent call-up Luke Voit will get his first major league start at first base. He's batting sixth against Brandon Finnegan. Tommy Pham will bat leadoff.
Jun 26 - 1:13 PM

Braves prospect Ronald Acuna homered and stole a base on Sunday for Double-A Mississippi.

The homer is Acuna's eighth of the season, and the stolen base gives him 30 in 2017. He's no longer putting up numbers that would look unrealistic in a video game, but he's still a 19-year-old in Double-A with an .856 OPS. There aren't many prospects in baseball who have his kinda of potential.
