Jered Weaver held the Nationals to one run over six innings in Wednesday's start, but took the no decision.

Ernesto Frieri blew the save in the ninth inning, taking Weaver out of the running for his second win of the season. Weaver allowed seven hits, walked one, and struck out two. Weaver has struck out only five batters in 12 innings over his last two starts, but it's nothing to worry about yet.

Danny Espinosa went 2-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Angels.

Espinosa, now a regular part of the Nats' lineup with Ryan Zimmerman on the shelf, will see plenty of playing time in the immediate future. He strikes out a lot and doesn't walk much, but will swipe the occasional bag, making him a reasonable option in deeper mixed leagues.
Apr 23 - 10:34 PM

Mike Trout went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.

Trout notched his eighth multi-hit game in his last 12 games. The 22-year-old phenom has wasted no time taking his place at or near the top of many leaderboards. He is slashing .315/.378/.584 after Wednesday's action.
Apr 23 - 10:31 PM

Albert Pujols went 2-for-4 with an RBI double, a walk, and a run scored in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.

No home runs for Pujols after joining the 500-homer club on Tuesday, but the 34-year-old kept the hot hitting going. Pujols is now slashing .284/.351/.625 in 97 plate appearances. One item worth keeping an eye on is his strikeout rate, as it is markedly lower than it has been since Pujols joined the Angels as a free agent. His current 8.2 percent strikeout rate would be his lowest since 2006.
Apr 23 - 10:26 PM

Marcus Semien went 1-for-4 with a timely grand slam as the White Sox defeated the Tigers 6-4 on Wednesday.

Semien's seventh-inning grand slam put the White Sox ahead 6-4, a lead they would hold on to for the final three innings. Semien hasn't been very reliable with the bat, but is on a four-game hitting streak with as many extra-base hits in that span. He'll have to keep it going in order to maintain playing time once Gordon Beckham is activated.
Apr 23 - 10:23 PM

Matt Lindstrom earned his third save of the season in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.

Lindstrom found himself in trouble, putting the winning run on base with a walk and a single, but was able to escape the jam. Lindstrom has made things anything but comfortable pitching out of the bullpen in nine appearances to start the season.
Apr 23 - 10:21 PM

Andre Rienzo got the win in Wednesday's start against the Tigers, allowing four runs in 6 1/3 innings.

Rienzo, filling in for the injured Felipe Paulino, mostly stayed out of trouble, but the Tigers took advantage of him in the fourth inning, hanging a four-spot on the board. Rienzo surrendered five hits and two walks while striking out three. He will face the Rays the next time out.
Apr 23 - 10:17 PM

White Sox optioned LHP Charlie Leesman to Triple-A Charlotte.

Leesman was called up to start on Tuesday, allowing six run over 2 2/3 innings in a loss to the Tigers. He was scheduled for another start on Sunday, so it's unclear how the Sox rotation will shake out. Leesman was optioned to make room for Gordon Beckham on the active roster.
