Vikings C Joe Berger (concussion) returned to practice on Tuesday.

That puts Berger on track to play Sunday versus Jacksonville. Nick Easton filled in for Berger at center last week against the Cowboys. Berger holds PFF's sixth-best center grade out of 37 qualifiers this season.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said DeAngelo Williams (knee) could return to practice this week.

He and Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) will both be evaluated on Tuesday. Williams had a knee scope about a month ago. For what it's worth, Tomlin said Williams has a better chance to return this week than Heyward-Bey.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Chris Boswell (abdomen) has a "legit chance" to return against the Bills in Week 14.

Boswell sat out last week's game with an abdomen injury. Randy Bullock booted three field goals and an extra point in his absence Sunday against the Giants. Boswell has had a somewhat underwhelming year (12-of-16 field goals) but Tomlin is adamant that he'll retain the starting job if healthy.

Eagles DC Jim Schwartz said the team's cornerback play has been lacking.

"Facts of life, our corners aren't playing very well," said Schwartz. He also said the whole team is "in a slump." The Eagles' defense has played well at times this year, particularly on their home soil, but their cornerbacks have consistently underachieved. Rookie Jalen Mills ranks dead-last in PFF's cornerback grades while Nolan Carroll and Leodis McKelvin haven't been much better. Schwartz said the team won't blitz as heavily going forward because the Eagles have been so vulnerable in man coverage. Plagued with issues on both sides of the ball, it looks like the once-promising Eagles will finish this year on a low note.

According to ESPN's Ed Werder, Jason Pierre-Paul's preliminary diagnosis did not reveal a sports hernia.

Pierre-Paul is set to visit Dr. William Meyers Tuesday in Philadelphia. Meyers' expertise is sports hernia surgery, so it was natural to assume Pierre-Paul had suffered a hernia himself. Though the initial diagnosis didn't show that, Pierre-Paul will get official word from Meyers on Tuesday. Even if Pierre-Paul doesn't go under the knife, he's still expected to miss "a few weeks," according to beat writer Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.com.

Bilal Powell played 28-of-52 offensive snaps in Monday's Week 13 loss to the Colts.

That's four more snaps than Matt Forte played. Despite this, Forte still out-touched Powell 12-1. The Jets often go to Powell when they're in catch-up mode but for some reason Bryce Petty seemed to be infatuated with throwing deep passes to Robby Anderson on Monday night. He's not someone fantasy owners should be relying on down the stretch.

Jason Pierre-Paul (groin) is traveling to Philadelphia Tuesday to visit Dr. William Meyers.

It's obviously not a good sign for his availability this week or going forward. Dr. Meyers specializes in sports hernia surgery. Maybe Meyers will give Pierre-Paul some good news, but we're not counting on it. JPP injured his groin late in the first half of Sunday's loss to Pittsburgh and did not return.

ESPN's Bob Holtzman reports Jeremy Maclin (groin) "should play" Thursday night against the Raiders.

Holtzman added the caveat of "if all goes well" in practice this week. Maclin has been out since Week 9 with a groin injury. Even if he returns Thursday night, there is a decent chance he will be limited. Even in a good matchup, Maclin is nothing more than a WR4.
