Kenta Maeda allowed one earned run, four hits and a walk with seven strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Marlins.

Maeda did his part against the Marlins, throwing 55 of his 82 pitches for strikes. However, L.A.'s offense was unable to get to left-hander Dillon Peters on the other side. It was a surprising result, as the Dodgers had posted a 16-5 record across Maeda's past 21 starts, including 7-2 in his past nine against National League East foes. He'll look to get back into the win column Sunday in San Francisco.

Cameron Maybin went 2-for-4 with a game-winning RBI in Tuesday's road victory against the Dodgers.

Maybin helped the Marlins snap a five-game skid, getting to the beleaguered Los Angeles bullpen. Despite the late-inning heroics he is still hitting just .238, and Tuesday represented just his third multi-hit performance of the season. As such he remains useful only in deeper NL fantasy play at the moment.
Apr 25 - 2:23 AM

Brad Ziegler needed just eight pitches in a perfect ninth inning for his second save of the season Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Ziegler has had some trouble in non-save situations, and the struggling Marlins just haven't give him very many chances to nail down saves. He has converted each of his save chances this season, but this was his first since April 8. Ziegler is the team's closer, but he is nailing down saves for a bad team and his production will be sporadic at best.
Apr 25 - 2:13 AM

Dillon Peters allowed just one earned run, four hits and two walks with four strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision on the road Tuesday against the Dodgers.

Peters did a good job giving his team a chance to win, throwing 57 of his 96 pitches for strikes. It was a surprising result, as the Marlins ended up winning to snap a five-game skid in the series against L.A. They were also just 1-4 in their past five trips to Dodger Stadium. The southpaw will take the ball next on May 1 against Ben Lively and the Phillies at Marlins Park.
Apr 25 - 2:11 AM

Noel Cuevas posted a pair of singles with a run scored over four at-bats in Tuesday's 8-0 victory against the Padres.

The hits were the first of his career, as he was hitless in his first four at-bats after making his major league debut on Sunday against the Cubs. Cuevas has the ability to play all three outfield positions so he could stick around if he continues to hit. However, he is only worth a look in the deepest of NL fantasy formats at this juncture.
Apr 25 - 2:05 AM

Trevor Story had just one hit over his three at-bats in Tuesday's game against San Diego but it was good for a grand slam, his sixth homer of the season.

Story took rookie Eric Lauer deep in his major league debut on a 1-1 pitch middle in and deposited it into the seats in left-center field a few rows in as he sat dead-red on a fastball. The shortstop is second behind Charlie Blackmon (8) for the team lead in homers, and he leads the team in RBI (18). He is rolling right along and providing nice numbers across the board.
Apr 25 - 2:01 AM

Kyle Freeland allowed just three hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over seven scoreless innings for his first win of the season Tuesday against the Padres.

Freeland threw 57 of his 90 pitches for strikes in the quality start, just his second of the season in five outings. While he has yielded at least two walks in each of his five outings, he has started to work down his homer totals. After serving up four bombs in his first two starts over 11 1/3 innings, Freeland has allowed just one homer across the past 15 2/3 innings over his past three outings. Next up is a visit to Wrigley Field and a matchup with Jon Lester on Monday to kick off a two-start week.
Apr 25 - 1:56 AM

Franchy Cordero finished 0-for-4 with four strikeouts in Tuesday's 8-0 loss at Colorado.

Cordero has prodigious power and Coors Field seems like a venue in which he can excel. Fantasy owners have to be disappointed with the output in this one, but he did crack a homer with two RBI in the series opener on Monday. He'll give you occasional power, just be ready for a mediocre average and a slew of strikeouts, too.
